The Increase of Christian Persecution

by Cowboy Bob Sorensen

Disclaimer: I do not endorse all opinions on all sites found in supporting links.

This article is another of those times when several things came together for me that had been in the works for a while. I think God does that, just brings things together like that.

The Arabic letter that begins their word for Nazarine has become a social media event. Moslems are using it to mark the homes of Christians in Iraq (if there are any left there now), which is reminiscent of the way Nazis marked property belong to Jews. People are using this symbol and variations on it in social media to express solidarity 1. However, this is not anything new or unusual. Persecution of Christians is happening worldwide, especially in atheist and Moslem countries. There are ministries dedicated to spreading information and giving support to the persecuted Christians 2, 3, 4, 5.

Some of the threat to Christians is the increased Islamization in the West, but the more current threats are from militant atheists and secularists.

Currently, blatant physical persecution of Christians in Western countries is rare. It is primarily done as discrimination, hidden behind other excuses (such as poor job performance, or daring to publish information that questions evolution in peer-reviewed material 6). I have documented many instances in this Weblog of atheistic discrimination and persecution. (Some dishonest atheists claim that Christians are not being persecuted, and that they are instead! Ironically, William Murray, the son of famous misotheist Madalyn Murray O'Hair, leads the Religious Freedom Coalition 7.) Although what we endure in Western countries is much milder than our brothers and sisters in Christ are facing in other parts of the world, be certain that it is coming our way 8, 9, 10, 11.

As I mentioned before, there is not much "I'm persecuting you because you're a Christian". Instead, there are excuses and false charges used as excuses to harass, imprison, torture and murder Christians. A good part of this is done by labeling. Sometimes it is with "criminal" charges, some labels are as vague as "enemy of the state" or "child abuser" (Clinton Richard Dawkins likes to equivocate and call Christians who teach their values to their children "child abusers", for example 12). One reason I believe that many atheists hate Christians who teach creation is that we want to encourage people to think critically and examine the evidence instead of simply believing what "scientists say". This also slows atheists down when they want to defame us by appealing to people's emotions with illegitimate, loaded-term labels. Persecution and discrimination begin with words.

Take a look at this 3-1/2 minute video:

"More and more people are having a hatred for Christians . . . People behave in a manner consistent with what they believe. If they believe that Christianity's okay . . . they're going to behave very much differently than someone who believes Christianity is a hate-mongering, filthy religion that needs to be destroyed. People with different belief systems are going to behave in different manners based on the belief system that they have. We behave in a manner consistent with what we believe, not with what we don't believe. I have seen an increase in hostility towards Christianity from all types of groups..."
— Matt Slick, "Matt Slick Live", CARM.org, June 2, 2014
Now I am going to give an example of some of the nonsense that I frequently deal with (which is about 1/100 of what major creation ministries constantly endure). This character is inconsequential and cannot harm me (and I dislike indulging his craving for attention), but his libel illustrates what Paul Washer and Matt Slick are saying 13.

Later, another liar stated, "bob just said you want to kill all creationists" [sic]
Remember, persecution and discrimination begin with words. Words express thoughts and attitudes. People appeal to emotion 14, get others on "their side" and things escalate from there. It has happened before in history, and it is happening again. We need to stand firm and remember what God has told us in his written Word (Matt. 5.10-12, Matt. 24.9, John 15.20, Acts 8.1, 1 Cor. 15.9, 2 Cor. 4.8-12, 2 Tim. 3.12, 1 Peter 2.19-20, Psalm 14.1, Prov. 1.7).

Muslims and Nazis

Excellent work! Found on Facebook. Thanks, whoever made this.
The propaganda used by modern Muslims against the Jews is startlingly similar, often identical, to the anti-Jew propaganda of Nazi Germany. The hatred and bigotry is amazing.

Edit: Austrian Mohammedans chant, "Death to Jews!" Losers.

Some of it is childish, too. When they "martyr" themselves in cowardly suicide attacks, or when they get killed when the Israeli military strikes back, they cry for vengeance, as if they were quietly minding their own business and did not start anything. It reminds me of an old joke where a mother hears her child crying in the other room. When she rushes in, one child points to the other and sobs, "He hit me back!"

I am not going to say that the Israelis are pure as the driven snow and never do anything wrong (nor do I approve of their religion). When they do commit crimes, those become front page news and the atrocities of the Palestinians are either buried or ignored altogether.

For the record, again, I believe that Israel has the right to have its land and to protect itself.

Do Sunni Rebels Have ANY Compunction?

In World War 2, one strategy was to beat your enemy into submission by bombing population centers into nonexistence. Military targets were the priority, but the people were not entirely off-limits.

Fast forward >> to the Gulf Wars and into today. Surgical strikes against military targets, with great effort to minimize civilian casualties (if we can tell the difference between civilians and cowardly, non-uniformed terrorists combatants, that is). Some missions have been aborted because of the risk to civilians. This principle appears to apply to Israeli forces as well.

However, cowardly terrorist combatants not only refuse to wear uniforms, they even use human shields. This cowardice extends to the deliberate personal murders of entire families, and hanging children after the rest of the family has been murdered. (Many words come to mind, but I am attempting to restrain profanity and will settle for "low-life, cowardly, murdering scumbag weasel losers".) Religion of Peace cleric Mohammad al-Arifi says to go ahead, just try to keep pictures out of the press. What a scumbag weasel. OK, so I detest bullies. Especially the kind that have no conscience and commit brutal murders. Can't remain clinically detached and "objective" all the time, can we?
Terrorists in Syria hanged a small Shiite child after killing all his family members in Damascus, human rights activists in Iraq unveiled on Monday.

According to a report by Iraq's Qanon news website, Iraqi human rights activists said that armed rebel groups attacked the house of a Shiite Iraqi family in the Seyede Zainab neighborhood in the capital city of Damascus, killed all members of the family and hanged the last one, a little child.

The footages and pictures of the rebels' brutality which surfaced online in the last few days are revealing the terrorist nature and the war crimes of the opposition fighters in Syria.

Did Mohammed Exist? Unbelievable Debate!

A bit of a play on words in the title. Justin Brierley's show "Unbelievable?" has people debating, whether it's atheists and Christians, liberal and conservative Christians, world religions and other things. I am not a huge fan of the show, but it does get my interest on occasion.

This episode was interesting. The topic was whether or not Mohammed even existed, and if there is historical evidence to support the idea. Like other Mohammedan "scholars" in debates, Adnan Rashid showed hostility, ignorance, kept going off topic and exhibited dishonesty. Robert Spencer called him on it numerous times, eventually getting a bit perturbed himself. Heck, so would I. (Dr. James White is acquainted with Rashid's nonsense.) Rashid came out of the gate attacking the historicity of Jesus and attacking Spencer's character.

"Religion of Peace" Rape Epidemic

It is baffling the way that crimes by Mohammedans are tolerated, excused and downright ignored. Rape is finally being acknowledged. It is not just a few isolated incidents by some rowdy individuals in far-away places. No, it is becoming more widespread — and done in groups. It should not be surprising if you consider how their religion, which is their entire way of life, is demonically inspired.
For years there have been reports on blogs, personal testimonials and the like, about what looked like a literal epidemic of rape by Muslim men of both women and children, especially in northern European nations where the Muslim immigrant population is high.

But the disturbing reports rarely rose to the level that would make the general population aware of the dangers that were becoming evident. After all, such a report would be blasted for attacking Islam and discriminating against Muslims.

Until now, when a case from the United Kingdom has proven so egregious it could not be ignored.

The BBC reported that nine men were convicted of child sexual exploitation in Greater Manchester, after they had “groomed” girls as young as 13. But even there, the report identified the convicts only as “Asian” while revealing their victims were white.

The Guardian took one more step and labeled them as “Pakistani,” but it took a lesser-known online news site, The Salfordian, to identify the suspects as “Muslim men” who “plied girls as young as 13 with drink and drugs so they could use them for sex ‘several times a day.’”

Now, the subject that long has been ignored or suppressed finally may be getting the attention a major crime wave would deserve, regardless of the political correctness of the facts.

The Latest International Persecution of Christians

Buon giorno. There are some atheist clowns who display their hatred and ignorance by saying that Christians do not have to deal with persecution. Well, I have shown several times on this Weblog that Christians have to deal with discrimination and persecution. Although it is not as bad in the Western world (yet... we all know what happens when atheists gain power), it still exists, capice? Between atheists and Mohammedans, if we did not have God on our side, we would not stand a chance.

Four Protestants in Turkmenistan were arrested and fined in late February after police discovered Bibles in their possession. Although the judge initially refused to hear the case against the four Christians, citing a lack of evidence, she later changed her position and fined them for “violation of the law on religious organizations.”

The Bibles were discovered when police searched a home where three believers were staying with a fourth Christian. During the search, a police officer found a Bible in each of the three visitors’ bags. He confiscated the Bibles and took all four Christians, who asked not to be identified, to the police station.

Amid its ongoing bombing campaign in the Nuba Mountains area, the government of Sudan has enacted a new ethnic cleansing strategy denying citizenship to anyone deemed a “southerner.” The determination is based purely on ethnicity, rather than any of the traditional criteria for citizenship, such as residency or property rights. Khartoum has set April 8 as the deadline for “southerners” to leave or establish alien residency, though no residency terms have yet been established.

In the southern self-determination referendum, Sudan’s president warned over a year ago that he would purge the North of non-Arab and non-Islamic elements. He told the British newspaper The Guardian, “If south Sudan secedes, we will change the constitution, and at that time there will be no time to speak of diversity of culture and ethnicity. … Sharia and Islam will be the main source for the constitution, Islam the official religion and Arabic the official language.”

Eleven orphans in Laos who were threatened with expulsion from a government school because of their Christian faith have continued to attend church. They slip away one by one on Sunday mornings and walk to church unnoticed.

In August, the boys’ headmaster called them into his office and told them to stop attending church. Initially, seven of the boys stopped attending, but four of the boys refused to obey the headmaster despite the possibility that they could be expelled from the government-sponsored school. After seeing the faithfulness of these four boys, the other seven eventually decided to continue going to church as well.

Dearborn, Muslims and Human Rights

From "Answering Musims":
The prominent human rights organization American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI), its Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) program and the Virginia Anti-Shariah Task Force (VAST) will be hosting the first-ever human rights conference dedicated to exposing the plight of women under Islamic law in Dearborn, Michigan on the anniversary of the honor murder of Jessica Mokdad: the Jessica Mokdad Human Rights Conference.

The Jessica Mokdad Human Rights Conference will be held at the Hyatt Hotel in Dearborn. After bowing to Islamic supremacist pressure and canceling a speech by Pamela Geller that had been scheduled for a Hyatt in Nashville, Tennessee, the Hyatt reversed its stance, recovered its understanding of the American principle of free speech, apologized and offered AFDI space in a Hyatt for a future Conference to make it up the human rights organization. Geller chose the Hyatt in Dearborn to stand in solidarity there with girls who are in danger of being victimized like Jessica Mokdad.

Jessica Mokdad was a 20-year-old Muslim woman in Warren, Michigan, who was brutally murdered in May 2011. Fox News Detroit reported: “Authorities say a Minnesota man killed his 20-year-old stepdaughter in Michigan because she left home and wasn't following Islam.” Jessica’s stepfather, a devout Muslim, tracked his stepdaughter over four states to murder her for bringing dishonor on her family.

Militant Muslims Kill Christians in Nigeria

Thanks to Answering Muslims, who mentioned this story earlier.

More of the "religion of peace" in action.
A militant group seeking to enforce Sharia, or Islamic law, throughout Nigeria, has shot and killed two children of an ex-terrorist and "murderer" because he converted to Christianity, well-informed missionaries told BosNewsLife Wednesday, November 23.

Boko Haram, meaning “Western education is a sin”, carried out the killings this month after discovering that a former fellow fighter refused to kill a Christian and instead accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, explained Rae Burnett, Africa Director of the U.S. based Christian Aid Mission (CAM) group.

Burnett told BosNewsLife that the father and Boko Haram militant "was poised to slit the throat of his Christian victim" during November attacks in northern Nigeria that killed at least over 130 Christians, including missionaries, when "he was suddenly struck with the weight of the evil he was about to commit."

Dropping his machete, the man ran to the nearest church, asking a pastor for help, Burnett said.

Homosexuality, Christians and Sharia

Buona sera. Bible-believing Christians (as opposed to "liberal" make-your-own-god theology that gives a vague nod to Jesus, but backs away from actual Bible teaching if it goes against their opinions, Exodus 20.3) know that homosexuality goes against God's grain (1 Cor. 6.9, Rom. 1.26-28). Sorry, but that's what God says, I don't make the rules. Homosexuality is becoming more acceptable, probably because it is becoming more and more politically correct, despite the fact that most Americans believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. Yet, the Gaystapo is gaining momentum and is becoming increasingly aggressive (I pointed out some examples here and also here, where a man cannot even voice his personal opinion on the subject).

Because we believe that marriage is between a man and a woman, and that homosexuality is a sinful act, not a natural condition, we are called "homophobes" (a nonsense word) and "haters". No, we don't want to see someone become so wrapped up in sexual activities (or consumed by any sin for that matter), that they resent God and end up in Hell for eternity. What sin of any kind is worth a few years of earthly pleasure in contrast to eternity?

It's ironic that we're called "haters", but the Gaystapo will use violence and intimidation based in hate to get their own way.

Even though we hold to traditional values and want to see people turn from their sins to the forgiveness and love of Jesus Christ, we're hated. Well, that's what Satan does to people (2 Cor. 4.4); they think they are free and making their own choices, but that is not so.

I tried to ask this guy (above) how he thinks he would feel under Sharia law, and he made some lame, unmemorable comment. He should learn that America was founded by Christians, and realize that homosexuals have plenty of rights here.

Let's do a little investigation.
Well, you can do your own work from here. Islam is gaining ground and more acceptance in the West, and many people are thinking that it can become dangerous for freedom-loving people. But homosexuals are more concerned with hating Christians. Go figure.

Brave Muslim Heroes Burn American Flag

Those brave heroes, burning an American flag on September 11, 2011! Oh, such inspirations! Never mind that they didn't even do it in the United States. 'Smatter, Hassan, too much security? Or were you gutless wonders afraid that the people would shove your allahu where the sun doesn't shine? Boy, someone burns a Koran and you think it gives you license to "jihad" and murder people, but you burn an American flag on the tenth anniversary of the date that your shameless, cowardly compatriots murdered three thousand Americans, and yet, you are still living! Shows a bit of a difference, huh?

Terrorists Do Not Seem to Fear B. Hussein Obama

Last year Obama made a statement during a 9/11 event in which he said “as Americans we are not — and never will be — at war with Islam.”
Maybe the president needs to remind Islam about this because they certainly don’t seem to know.
Since taking office, the U.S. has either been attacked or threatened by attacks by Islamists at least 11+ times.  These aren’t random terrorist affronts by other countries, or Jared Loughner-type kooks (as the mainstream media would like you to believe)—they are ISLAMIC TERRORISTS.
Here’s a list of Islamic terrorist attacks and/or threats of attacks that have occurred on U.S. soil and U.S. military bases since Obama took office in January, 2009.
Oh and just a reminder—although 9/11 happened 8 months after President Bush took office, during his 8-year presidency we never had any other Islamic terrorist attack in the U.S.  They knew better.

Religious Pluralism — Rubbish!

On a weekend when the world remembers the 9/11 that made that date infamous, many questions remain unanswered.
My concern is that there are answers that remain unquestioned.

Coexist. This sounds so terribly profound and noble. Even the graphic is inspiring. In one word we have Rodney King’s plea from a decade earlier – “Can’t we all just get along?” Well, I suppose that depends what you mean.
  • Can we accept one another as humans with inherent value? – I would hope so.
  • Can we tolerate viewpoints and lifestyles different from our own? – We should.
  • Can we live out our own beliefs without injuring or belittling others in the name of our beliefs? – Most of us do, except for the occasional misguided zealot.
  • Can we accept that we are all climbing the same mountain, even though we may be choosing separate paths? – No. This is where we must part company.
The term for this sentiment is religious pluralism. It means ‘acceptance of all religious paths as equally valid, promoting coexistence.’
So – does this hold up? Is there more than one way to God / heaven / enlightenment? I say absolutely not. Sometimes things that sound like good ideas simply don’t work. Religious pluralism is nonsensical.

Let’s start here in case you are new. I am a Christian. I believe in Jesus Christ, that he was and is God, that he came to earth as a human, that he died and rose again, and that only through him can we achieve right standing before God. I am aware of the charges that this sounds intolerant and arrogant. I get it, but I don’t think it holds up. First off, no Christian has warrant to be intolerant or arrogant. We are just beggars telling other beggars where to find bread.

Guilt by Association

Christianity seems to be frightening more people these days. The most recent flurry of alarm has been over "dominionism," as represented in a New Yorker article by Ryan Lizza. It has been more than thoroughly debunked, but still it seems to represent something more than politics. People are afraid of Christianity.
In fact for multiple reasons, many people are saying Christianity is bad, evil, harmful. This post is the first in a series examining reasons for Christianity's bad reputation. In memory of 9/11, I begin with "Guilt by Association." It goes like this. Islam is a religion. Some Muslims attacked us on 9/11 in the name of their God and their religion. Therefore religion is bad. Christianity is a religion. Therefore Christianity is bad.
The logic is laughable. Compare this, which is in near-identical form: Rodents are four-legged animals. Mice are rodents and can make a mess in your attic. Therefore rodents are bad. Dogs are four-legged animals. Therefore dogs are bad.
The reasoning fails miserably at every step, and it would be hilarious if not for two things. First, Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens, and Richard Dawkins have sold millions of books trying to make a case for it. To some extent I can understand their response. The 9/11 attacks were more than deadly, more than terrifying. They ruined the world in other ways besides. You may recall that the 1990s were supposed to be "the end of history." The Cold War was over and "'peace' seem[ed] to be breaking out all over the world" (Francis Fukuyama). What could there be to fight over now?
But just when we thought things were getting better, we were attacked right on our own soil. What a huge, terrible, and terrifying letdown that was—and what was to blame? Religion! What does that mean? Religion is dangerous! How shall we solve that? Eliminate religion!

Is Religion Evil?

No introduction, here's the text:

Attitude Adjustment

How did 9/11 change America’s attitude toward religion? A recent post on CNN’s Belief Blog says: “Before 9/11, many atheists kept a low profile. Something changed, though, after 9/11. They got loud… Criticism of all religion, not just fanatical cults, was no longer taboo after 9/11.”
Indeed. Around the 10-year anniversary of 9/11, American Atheists hit the nightly news by suing to remove a steel cross from the September 11 memorial, even as others were calling it a national monument and a symbol of hope. Still, many atheists say 9/11 is a perfect example of why religion itself is evil.

Is Religion Evil?

Reminds me of reading Sam Harris’ The End of Faith years ago. I remember when he started to get popular by insisting that religion itself is dangerous and evil. Although he’s got a lot of fans, a Religion Dispatches article recently called him “more charismatic than credentialled” as a speaker. In the same article, Harris is quoted as saying, “I’m kind of self-taught in religion…I’ve never studied it formally with anyone.” But he’s not the only one who’s taken the spotlight.

Some Of Us Did Not Forget

Kingston, New York, had been my home for about seventeen months. I was working in the warehouse with my foreman, getting the day's rounds planned. Another guy came over to us and asked if we knew what was happening. No, we did not have a radio on. He proceeded to tell us that planes had hit the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. I was waiting for a punch line, because this guy told tacky jokes.

When he told us that it was no joke, I ran to the nearest computer and got online. I saw images of the smoking World Trade Center. Two things chilled me. First, the attack on the Pentagon made me realize that this was more ambitious than other attacks, and that the enemy was arrogant and stupid enough to take on the power of the United States military. The other thing that chilled me was when the Internet went down. At the time, I thought it was more than just overload and signal problems, but communications were not destroyed after all.

I did not grasp the physical enormity of the World Trade Center as well as its importance as a financial center. For some reason, I thought the loss of life would be minimal. When they said that somewhere around 45,000 people could be working there. As time went on and I joined with my fellow Americans obsessing over the news images, I realized the impact of the tragedy.

The cowardly cafones who attacked did a good job of coordinating, but they had some "fails". First, as I mentioned, the loss of life in the World Trade Center could have been far greater but not everyone had come to work yet. Also, they underestimated the construction of the WTC. Second, they underestimated the Pentagon itself. The seat of American military planning was designed to withstand attack. Plus, the area that was hit was not fully occupied. Third, the cowardly murderers underestimated the resolve and intelligence of the American people, as well as our supporters around the world. Emergency responders saved lives while many of them lost their own. Flight 93 did not reach a target, because heroic passengers would rather crash than add to the disasters already occurring.

Some people ask, "Where was God?" The same place he was on September 11, and where he is today.

Then, we came for you, you cowardly murderous losers.

This slide show has photos that I had not seen before. It's rather long, but after all, it is the tenth anniversary of the biggest cowardly scumbag terrorist attack in American history. (Some associates of mine have your akbar waiting right here, Habib!) Some things are worth fighting for...

Here's a suggestion for the Mohammedans: Don't mess with us. I know you want something even bigger than September 11, 2001 to happen. But do you remember the rage ten years ago? Remember that innocent Muslims were harmed? Imagine that magnified because of a new attack. Or don't you care that there could be a backlash against innocent Muslims, "your" people, and that the losers who cause these attacks are hunted down and killed? Maybe next time, the bullets will be dipped in the blood of pigs, how does that sound?

Canadian PM Says Islamicism 'Biggest Threat'

In an exclusive interview with CBC News, Prime Minister Stephen Harper says the biggest security threat to Canada a decade after 9/11 is Islamic terrorism.
In a wide-ranging interview with CBC chief correspondent Peter Mansbridge that will air in its entirety on The National Thursday night, Harper says Canada is safer than it was on Sept. 11, 2001, when al-Qaeda attacked the U.S., but that "the major threat is still Islamicism."
"There are other threats out there, but that is the one that I can tell you occupies the security apparatus most regularly in terms of actual terrorist threats," Harper said.
Harper cautioned that terrorist threats can "come out of the blue" from a different source, such as the recent Norway attacks, where a lone gunman who hated Muslims killed 77 people.
But Harper said terrorism by Islamic radicals is still the top threat, though a "diffuse" one.

"Religion of Peace" Adherents Murder Family of 8 in Nigeria

The death toll in central Nigeria from an intensified series of violent attacks along religious and ethnic lines continues to rise after reports that Muslim youths killed a Christian family of eight on Sunday.

Sometime after the attack on the family, journalists were taken by a Plateau state spokesman to a house in the village of Tatu, where the hacked bodies of the eight family members were still lying on the blood-soaked floor, according to Reuters.
It is estimated that more than 50 people have been killed since Aug. 29 when youths identified as Christians attacked a group of Muslims as they gathered to celebrate the end of Ramadan in the city of Jos, capital of Plateau state.

American Muslims Admit 9-11 Attacks Benefited Them

From "Answering Musims":
One of the first articles I ever wrote on Islam was titled "The Two Faces of Islam . . . Still Smiling." In the article, I argued that all Muslims actually benefit from terrorism. Violent Muslims benefit from terrorism because people start living in fear. Peaceful Muslims benefit from terrorism because non-Muslims, in an effort to protect peaceful Muslims from the fabled "anti-Muslim backlash," rush to their aid, giving Muslims multiple platforms to explain "real Islam" to us. Hence, after every terrorist attack, the West becomes a dawah paradise. The words I wrote on the day of the London subway bombing are just as relevant today as they were then:
Today’s terrorist attacks in London, strangely enough, will help Islam grow even stronger. There will be a brief period of outrage against Islam, but once the smoke has cleared (both literally and figuratively), the world will once again rush to defend Islam, and more bills will be passed, "protecting" Muslims from those who would speak out against Muhammad’s "religion of peace." No matter how violent Islam becomes, as long as people fail to recognize that its two faces are part of the same head (and that both faces are calmly smiling as new laws make Islam untouchable), Muhammad’s empire of faith will thrive in a world of false tolerance.
Interestingly, some Muslims in the West are admitting that terrorist attacks are helping the Muslim community:

More Efforts to Put Sharia Law in the USA

Did anyone else notice how B. Hussein Obama kept saying, "Muslim-Americans" as if it was a "race"? He was praising Muslims up one side and down the other. Funny how this alleged Christian ignores or disparages Christianity. But anyway...
The conversation would be hilarious if it weren't so frightening.

MUSLIM AMERICANS: "You non-Muslim Americans have nothing to worry about. We Muslims would never even think about imposing Sharia in the U.S."

NON-MUSLIM AMERICANS: "Well then, you wouldn't mind if we pass a law that will ban Sharia from being used in U.S. courts."

MUSLIM AMERICANS: "What??? You only want American law in American courts? No Sharia? How dare you! You're Islamophobes! You're bigoted hate-mongers!"

NON-MUSLIM AMERICANS: "If you had no intention of bringing Sharia to the U.S., why are you opposed to us banning it?"

MUSLIM AMERICANS: "Racists! We'll sue (to keep you from getting in the way of Sharia)!"

Detroit—Opposition is mounting among Muslims against pending legislation that would ban Michigan courts from considering "foreign laws" — including Sharia, or Islamic law.
Muslim and community leaders gathered Tuesday in Midtown to denounce legislation from state Rep. Dave Agema, R-Grandville, as divisive, unnecessary and mean-spirited.

"This plan goes against our country's core values of accepting people from all races and walks of life," said state Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Detroit, who is Muslim. "We simply cannot move forward with this plan.

"It's racism at its core."
