Living Under Divine Judgment

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen This article contains raw emotion, but I hope that some of these thoughts will be useful. I also hope they will be interesting not just to Americans, but people in other Western countries. Supposedly every generation feels that the world is getting worse. Well, it is. Credit: Pixabay / Enrique Meseguer Readers should be informed that I am a Christian, politically Conservative, a biblical (young age) creationist, and believe in the pre-tribulation rapture . I'm not going to spend a great deal of time backing up everything I say because people seldom pay attention to those things anyway, and y'all can look things up your ownselves. But I'll document a few things.  Leftists and Theological Liberals It is no secret that political leftists, professing Christians who do not believe in the inerrancy of Scripture ("liberal" theology), and misotheists all ride for the same brand. They despise those of us who believe the Bible, and those of us who uph...

Religious Freedom, Free Speech, and Question Evolution Day

Image
In these here United States and several other Western countries, people have the right to free speech. The US Constitution also guarantees freedom of religion. There are atheists and other anti-creationists who flat out lie , saying that Christians are violating the "Constitutional separation of church and state", but that only appeared in the Soviet Union documents. The Apostle Paul explains the tenets of faith in the presence of King Agrippa, his sister Berenice, and the proconsul Festus /Vasily Surikov, 1875 Atheists will lie and harass Christians who often have to take their case to court to fight for their rights. Unfortunately, some professing Christians have a wrong view, saying that it is "Christlike" to endure such persecution. That view is unbiblical. Some owlhoots may claim that since the term religious freedom is not in the Bible, it must not be true. It helps to know our rights, and yes, we can stand up for them. After all, if we sit back and le...

Dealing with Persecution

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Although some sidewinders try to deny it, persecution of Christians is increasing in Western nations . Some professing Christians think that they are promised a life of giddy happiness, but we should expect persecution (1 Peter 4:12-14, Matt. 5:10-12, Matt. 24:9, John 15:20, 2 Tim. 3:12) , and we've had to deal with it since the beginning. Credit: Pixabay / Gerd Altmann Some of the persecution is nonviolent, having to do with having our rights to freedom of religion and free speech eroded. We also have to deal with bullying, defamation, misrepresentation, criminal cyberstalking, and so on. Reports of direct, personal violence against Christians, such as this one , are more frequent. Do you know the origin of the word persecution ? We got it from the French, who in turn got it from the Latin. It means to follow with hostility. Some make a point of following us on the Web, then lying about us on forums, weblogs, harassment on our own social media ac...

Atheists and Anti-Creationists Ramp Up the Persecution

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen A quote that is misattributed to Voltaire reads, "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." According to Evelyn Beatrice Hall , this was Voltaire's attitude toward material by Claude Adrien Helvétius. Voltaire is incorrectly called an atheist. He was actually a Deist who detested many religious dogmas, and believed in freedoms of religion and expression . The attitude of disapproving of what is said but defending the right to say it is sadly lacking in modern society; people screaming for "tolerance" are extremely intolerant. Even a cursory search will show that there is intense persecution of Christians , especially in countries run by atheists and Mohammedans. And it's only beginning . Edit: Around the time that I published this article, "Stand Up for the Truth" had a segment on persecution. To hear that, click on " Is Christian Persecution Coming to America? " It...

Semantics, Logic and Anti-Christian Bigotry

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen A "meme" that I used on a post 1 provoked some amazingly obstreperous and arrogant comments from anti-creationists. They misused logic and presented some remarks that were saturated with hate. These were predicated on what they considered a misuse of "science", the current definition of the Big Bang. My introductory remarks in the post said that the Big Bang was an explosion, and the article that I linked in the post had did not discuss the Big Bang, it was about other explosions. But they apparently didn't bother to read that one, they wanted to rip the "anti science" of calling the Big Bang an "explosion". Well, was the Big Bang an explosion? Or, more importantly for this article, is it justified to make such a remark? Yes, definitely. First, the Big Bang is called an explosion (or inferred by words like "cataclysmic") in dictionaries 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , but some must have received the memo that t...

The Increase of Christian Persecution

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Disclaimer: I do not endorse all opinions on all sites found in supporting links. This article is another of those times when several things came together for me that had been in the works for a while. I think God does that, just brings things together like that. The Arabic letter that begins their word for Nazarine has become a social media event. Moslems are using it to mark the homes of Christians in Iraq (if there are any left there now), which is reminiscent of the way Nazis marked property belong to Jews. People are using this symbol and variations on it in social media to express solidarity 1 . However, this is not anything new or unusual. Persecution of Christians is happening worldwide, especially in atheist and Moslem countries. There are ministries dedicated to spreading information and giving support to the persecuted Christians 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 . Some of the threat to Christians is the increased Islamization in the West, but the more current...

More Facebook Double Standards

Image
In a previous post, I discussed and documented the blatant double standards of Facebook , especially against conservative viewpoints, both political and Christian. Here is some more material about that. J.D., the originator of a parody Page called "Atheists Shouldn't Be Allowed to Reproduce", had complaints and his Page was taken down by Fazebook. He was also put in the time-out corner for a while. Why? "Atheists Shouldn't Be Allowed to Reproduce" was a parody that J.D. described as being similar to Mad magazine (presumably from the good years). Ironically, Mad magazine is on Facebook , but this parody that is inspired by it was taken down. It did not have obscene images, profanity, racism or offensive to a religion. Wait...religion? Although atheism is a religion , misotheists do not want to admit this (despite their denials based on ignorance of religion and philosophy). So they are unlikely to have complained that "Atheists Shouldn...

Atheists Embarrassed by Atheists

Image
A recent article by an atheist is getting some attention. He does not appreciate the actions of his brethren. I'll come back to this later. Several times in the past, I have documented my experiences and observations, and those of others, regarding militant atheists. Interestingly, they play the victim by saying that Christians persecute atheists! That is the opposite of the truth 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 . Christians are defenders of the rights of people to believe (and disbelieve) without coercion to convert. When I inquired of others about the "old days" of my experience, when most atheists were "live and let live", with an attitude of, "I do not believe, you do, we can discuss it or not, whatever", some people say that they are like Muslims: Nice at first, but when they gain power, watch out. And don't you dare question evolution ! There were not many atheopaths in my experience in the early 1970s, but I remember Scott. He was a pseudo-intell...

Video by The Atheist Antidote: "Atheists and Christmas"

Image
Perhaps they're just angry that they have to wait until April 1 for their own joyless holiday, so they can't get into ours . Perhaps it's just hate in disguise. They pretend to be standing for something when they seek to remove the civil rights of Christians , what a joke. Atheopaths are not fooling anyone. And they really wonder why people can't stand them?
