The Amazing Super Powers of the Mighty Atheist™

by Cowboy Bob Sorensen

Years ago, I wrote "atheist" on Twitter, and one cautioned me about using that word because I risked "calling down the thunder". We know that they can be ornery cusses even on their good days, but I was unaware of the intellectual prowess and wisdom of The Mighty Atheist™, dwarfing that of a mere theist. What I had yet to learn, however, is that they also have super powers that are even magical at times. Now I know better. Christians and creationists, I hope you heed this warning!

Super powers mighty atheist
Graphic modified from Clker clipart
As with other super powers, those of The Mighty Atheist™ are difficult to categorize. Not all atheists and evolutionists have the same powers to the same degree, and there is no special school for gifted atheists under a professor so they can develop their abilities. Like logical fallacies, powers often blend and overlap. Let's saddle up and ride over yonder to Deception Pass where the atheists, atheopaths, anti-creationists, and others are having a hootenanny to celebrate International Atheists Day right now.

Yes, they know what you are going to say one-on-one, what a creationist is going to say at a conference, and everything between. Many often know what you are doing during your Sisyphean apologetic efforts. They also know that difficulties for evolution discussed by creationists (such as dinosaur blood and soft tissues) will someday have a scientific explanation, so creationists are already wrong before that great day happens. An example: "I could ask Gordons WHAT 'misrepresentation' took place and WHAT relevant information I omitted. But he would not answer my question. So I don't think I'll bother."

Atheists are able to read an introduction to an article or even just a title and know what is being said. There is no need to follow links or read the rest of the article. This tinhorn is able to asses the intellectual ability of a writer and utterly dismiss him simply by reading a few paragraphs. Cherry-picking and straw man argumentation is permitted (discussed below).

When challenging evolution and atheism, the Christians and creationists are required to provide credentials of advanced education in relevant areas. Since atheists and evolutionists have no need for reading articles and their supporting links, they are not required to show credentials — or even to possess significant education; any jasper can defend evolution. Flinging outdated, biased links from Wikipedia, Talk.Origins, (Ir)RationalWiki, and other sites that favor them is justified. Even an abstract (which is a kind of promise for what will be included in a scientific paper) is devastating to us. Indeed, the links to do not even need to be related to the topic at hand, and we are effectively refuted. A step further, although they disbelieve in God (but still hate him) and reject the Bible, many are experts in theology (albeit without education) and can refute any Christian who dares to oppose their statements.

While the rest of us are constrained to following the rules of logic, The Mighty Atheist™ is able to use cherry-picking, misrepresentation, ad hominems, straw men, hasty generalization, and many more arguments that are normally considered illegitimate. When a Christian or creationist identifies those, fallacies are no longer fallacies, but are transformed into legitimate argumentation. In addition, actively lying about Christians and creationists is effective, because lies become truth when uttered by those with super powers. In a similar manner, opinions change into facts! Any assertion or accusation can be made, and evidence is unnecessary. Changing the subject and attacking when cornered is encouraged by these heroes of atheism, and again, no longer fallacious. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Atheists have conveniently redefined atheism as "lack of belief" instead of the long-established meaning of "belief that there is no God or supernatural". It becomes valid for an evolutionist or atheist to call someone a liar when a statement is made that these sidewinders dislike or are unable to refute. Yes, it becomes a lie because they said so. Actual definitions of atoms-to-atheist evolution can be changed so they can be more evolution-friendly. Calling someone a "fascist", even though most do not know what that word means, makes someone a fascist. We cannot dispute this ability, and must accept it.

The Mighty Atheist™ has no tolerance for those of us who dare mock their popes and high priests, such as Carl Satan Sagan, Charles Darwin, Clinton Richard Dawkins, and so on. Presuppositions held by materialistic atheists and evolutionists are true, and need not be supported through logic. When challenged, the empowered atheist may shoot you down with death rays from his eyes, usually accompanied with epithets of, "Liar! Fascist! You know nothing of science! What you said is not true! I'm smarter than you!" and so on. Although they reject God, they hate him; blasphemy is acceptable in their eyes, even daring to call God a liar.

They can find like-minded people to join on their atheistic jihads. Think of piranhas. (This ability is used frequently among atheists and evolutionists who have less developed super powers.) I had said that one atheopath has a personal motto of "I'm telling!", and that is common among them. They seek out their own kind to join in with attacks, but also tattle on Christians and creationists to entreat assistance from those who may have power and authority. These junior members are often ignored by their superiors.

One of the best things I learned from a comic book was the line from Spider-Man, "With great power comes great responsibility". When it comes to The Mighty Atheist™ , something similar is true: with great egos come the illusion of great power. Though most try to deny it, atheism is a religion. They may think we are defeated, but we have truth in the Word of God.

They may think they are bringing the world wisdom and reason, but they are fools (Psalm 14:1). Despite the protestations of professing atheists, they do know that God the Creator exists (Rom. 1:18-23). Their worldly "wisdom" is worthless (1 Cor. 1:20). Like the rest of us, they have sinned (Rom. 3:23) and deserve divine punishment, but can be redeemed (Rom. 6:23). Not only redeemed, but can become children of God (John 1:12, Rom. 8:13-17). The tremendous pride, arrogance, and bullying of atheists and fundamentalist evolutionists makes it difficult for them to humble themselves and repent, but they can have new life. Not just atheists, but all unbelievers are under God's wrath and need to repent for salvation. Today is April 1. Don't be a fool in God's eyes.

Snowflakes Burning with Hate

by Cowboy Bob Sorensen

It is indeed unfortunate that the political and cultural situations in the United States are not unique to our borders; the affliction is global. Instead, it is a reflection of postmodernism and nihilism, replete with relative truth and despair. After Hillary Clinton lost the election to Donald J. Trump, people were suddenly confronted with the stark possibilities of having to actually work and become productive members of society for eight years; they never considered that Hillary could lose the election. Further, they were willingly blind to the duplicity and outright lies of the Obama administration, carrying this over and expecting more promises of good things from the leftist Democrats.

On the spiritual side, we get something like this confused ramblings from someone who has claimed to be an atheist and not an atheist in the same paragraph. He usually identifies himself as an atheist, and has said God is "non-existent". Here is an edited version of something this atheist said (he's an atheist except when he's not...weird...):

I sometimes feel anger towards "God". Maybe he is real for some but chose to withhold his reality from me, and that's unfair.
Hold on a spell, pilgrim! What makes you so doggone special, that God would "withhold his reality" from you? Things didn't go the way you liked, God did not jump through a flaming hoop to give you your desires? Did you ever carry your cross through town, wrongly condemned and sinless? Further, you are calling God a liar! God did make himself known to all (Rom. 1:18-24), and you're not the special snowflake that is the exception, and God is not a liar (Num. 23:19). If you want "fair", then you don't want God! That's right, because all have sinned (Rom. 3:23) and deserve death (Rom. 6:23). He didn't have to do it, but God gave us the offer of redemption through Jesus Christ, God the Son. Repent of your perverse reverse idolatry (making a false god that you can hate) while there's still time.

There are others who feel that they are beyond God's reach, exceptions to the rules, and so forth (the Democrat Party actually booed God). They are rejecting him so they can make themselves into their own postmodern false gods and make their own rules, especially in areas of sexuality. Leftists are known for opposing Christian moral values, the family, the sanctity of marriage, and endorsing every form of sexual perversion. God is not welcome in Leftistland, but reality cannot be changed through tantrums.

When the election did not go their way, many liberals became hysterical, needing safe spaces in which to cry and use coloring books. These are children in adult bodies, and such coddling is actually harmful to them. Can you imagine a campus debate club nowadays? "Don't cry, we'll let you win the debate. That's right, the Soviet Union was good for the world!" I can just imagine such weak-minded individuals who have been ill-prepared to face the real world actually having to obtain employment and then be told that they cannot have their way.

Delicate liberal snowflakes are burning with hate for anyone who disagrees with them. While calling others "fascists", they show the same attitudes themselves.
Modified from a graphic at Clker clipart
Now we have these poor, poor, pitiful snowflakes burning with rage and showing how contemptible the left really is. (Yes, in this case, snowflakes really do burn.) They're still delicate, but fearless in a mob setting. They wanted mob rule from the election instead of the established, legal Constitutional process that prevailed.

Leftists claim to be all about free speech, but apparently that only works one way: they demand to be heard at any time, in any place, in any way. If you do not allow an obstreperous balatron free reign with his or her outbursts, then the individual or group will invariably play the fascist card (among others). It's a favorite word of late, but the users do not know what it means. They simply use it to provoke negative emotional reactions. President Trump has been called a fascist by many, but his policies belie that claim. (I've been called a fascist, and someone was called a "fascist follower of the North Korean style false propaganda blog", showing that the writer has no concept of what either word means.) What is interesting is that these benighted accusers are unaware (whether through stupidity or willing ignorance) that Hillary Clinton's "Stronger Together" slogan has fascist origins.

Unfortunately for intelligent people who must suffer because of excerebrose rioters and slogan chanters, they have not realized that their statements comparing Trump to Hitler (or even saying Trump is Hitler) are utterly vapid. After all, those — almost called them sidewinders, but I don't wish to insult venomous reptiles with the comparison — losers still have their free speech. They are still criticizing the government and individuals in it, still unimprisoned, still alive. I'm fully in favor of arresting, prosecuting, and punishing those who set people's hair on fire, shove bloody tampons in someone's face, riot, burn buildings, and so forth. Put 'em in the slammer.

The crocodilian attitudes of the left become even more apparent with the treatment of Milo Yiannopoulos. He embodies two traits that leftists adore: he is not an American citizen, and he is blatantly homosexual. He also tends to be correct about some topics, but quite crude as well. Since he supports Trump, he's persona non grata. Those advocates of free speech and tolerance are themselves engaging in their version of fascism, even to the point of rioting to protest the free speech of someone they dislike!

Let me ride off on a side trail. Come along, will you?

Republicans and Conservatives are more likely to uphold traditional moral values and the rule of law, but we've been bamboozled by country club Republicans in the past. Politicians lie, it's their nature. (I can hope that Trump is different, but it's too soon to tell. Good start in many instances, though.) When Hillary Clinton insulted millions of Trump supporters by calling them a "basket of deplorables", many embraced the term. On social media, you can find groups and Pages using the title "Deplorables" and some variations. I scanned some of them, and they are living up to the title. There is hatred for the left and extreme profanity. Sure, the bigotry of the left has provoked negative emotions on the other side, but the profane, hateful reactions to the leftists are outrageous.

Back to the main trail again.

Let me edjamakate y'all: The problem is not political, philosophical, or social. It is sin. Membership in a political party does not mean you are a Christian, nor does it make you faultless. Politics cannot save you. Donald Trump cannot save anyone (I don't reckon he has such an exalted view of himself anyway). Salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone, not through works, rituals, membership, or anything else added on, you savvy? Trump campaigned to make America great again. Can that happen? In my opinion, we're under God's judgement, but we've been given a reprieve by not going full left. If we as a nation will humble ourselves and seek God, it may happen. Perhaps the leftists outside our borders will then learn from our example.

Evolution and Other False Salvation Efforts

At first, I didn't have any ideas for something to write for the 8th anniversary of Stormbringer's Thunder. A spam comment at The Question Evolution Project, some podcasts that I heard while working, and ideas came through my mind like stampeding cattle spooked by lightning. —Cowboy Bob Sorensen

Have you ever watched the TV show Restaurant Impossible? Chef Robert Irvine revamps failing restaurants and gives the owners new hope for success. He often has to not only deal with bad management (and frequently, bad food), but attempts to fix relationships as well. Many of the restaurants succeed, but there are quite a few that still fail or get sold. When I watch the show, I get to pondering on how the agreements and plans are akin to New Year's resolutions. The root problem still remains.

People get involved in "12 Steps" recovery programs that have a pretense at Christianity, but actually give a false gospel. We have bad feelings, so a shrink gives us medication to make us feel better. Various cults form so people can have a god that they can cotton to instead of the real God of the Bible. Same with the "seeker driven", Word of Faith "prosperity" heresies, hyper-charismatic excessive emphasis on tongues and use of false prophesies, liberal "Christianity", some seek salvation in religion without the Bible, and other tap dancing on the Bible movements. People even make a religion out of politics. The root problem still remains.

Evolutionists get burrs under their saddles when you mention this, but evolution has a religious nature to it. Just consider this for a spell. Evolution is originally a pagan religion (see discussion and documentation in "Evolution and the New Atheo-Fascism") and a cornerstone for the religion of atheism (and Secular Humanism, which is atheism in its Sunday-go-to-meetin' clothes). But evolution can stand on its own as a religion. It has its creation mythology (usually the failed Big Bang hypothesis) and salvation (increasing order and complexity).

There are evolutionists who are evangelistic, seeking to destroy biblical creationism. (Also, many atheists want to destroy the faith of Christians while also justifying their own excuses for rebelling against God. Evolution is their primary shootin' iron.) Indeed, many are on a secularist jihad and ornerier than a burlap bag full of sidewinders. It's almost funny how some of these Darwinistas will call us "liars", "science deniers" (based on the sneaky bait-n-switch fallacy of equivocation, making "evolution" into "science"),  and even "compromisers", even though they have no grasp of the Bible that they disbelieve anyway! Worse for them, creationists often have to correct them on science and their own evolutionism beliefs. The most obstreperous atheopaths prefer to attack people with emotive language and accusations rather than intelligently discuss content, and become furious when their logical, theological, and scientific failings are pointed out.

In the area of origins, there are many compromisers. One of the first names many people think of is Hugh Ross, who uses bad theology and apologetics to deny the recent six-day creation, and he also advocates a local flood. His disciples try desperately to find excuses to avoid scientific evidence that refutes an old-earth view (see the short video, "Dr Mark H Armitage Responds To Dr Hugh Ross on Soft Tissue in Dinosaur Bones" for one example). Atheists are fond theistic evolutionists, and then old-earthers, since they're closer to atheism and willing to compromise on Scripture. They often work together to ridicule biblical creationists. Hugh Ross is being measured for a big millstone as we speak for denying scriptural authority and helping others do the same.

The spam link mentioned in the first paragraph really takes the rag off the bush. It takes you to a fundamentalist evolutionist site where evolutionism supposed is to stamp out all gods, lead us into an enlightened age, and usher in world peace. For those who want to see this train wreck and maybe count the logical fallacies, see "Evolutions Law". Even so, the root problem remains.

New Age religions offer buffet-style worldviews. It doesn't matter what you believe. A bit of Christianity, add some Hinduism, a heapin' helpin' of opinions (do not add reasoned epistemology, it wrecks the flavor) — and especially evolution. That's mandatory, old son. New Age is "do what you want" and "gay is okay", indulge in your pleasures and still be "spiritual". But the root problem remains.

That root problem is sin, and these things are false salvation efforts — other "gospels", if you will (Galatians 1:8). Any of them can help you feel good about who you are; you don't have to humble yourself before the real God, repent, and believe in Jesus for salvation for your sins. With these false salvation things, make all the decisions you want, have a wagon-load of good intentions, make promises, saddle up your own religion — you're still the same sinful you (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23).

There are many man-made efforts for salvation. Evolution is one of the biggest, and is a cornerstone for many forms of rebellions against the authority of God's Word.

Back in Eden, the serpent threw aspersions on God's integrity by twisting God's words when asking, "Did God really say...?" (Genesis 3:1), calling God a liar (Genesis 3:4), and lying himself (Genesis 3:5). Man has wanted to be his own god from the beginning of creation, and even tries to pretend that God doesn't exist (Romans 1:20, Psalm 53:1). The religion of evolution helps foolish men build that faulty tower.

When atheists and evolutionists attack God's people for believing and standing on his Word, they are not exactly attacking the Christians, but God himself. Sure, they hate us, but they hate us more because God is in us (2 Timothy 1:14, 1 Corinthians 3:16). They attack us, they attack our Creator. Some call themselves "freethinkers", but they are Satan's hand puppets, under his control (John 8:44) and their eyes are blinded (2 Corinthians 4:4). Their mocking, deceived, blind selves seek to destroy the gospel (especially the message of biblical creation, which is the foundation of the gospel). They want to destroy the truth. God doesn't take kindly to people interfering with his people's understanding of the Bible (Mark 9:42, Revelation 22:18-19, 1 Corinthians 4:6, Proverbs 30:6). Hear that, Dr. Ross, Clinton Richard Dawkins, Bill Nye, Laurence Krauss, and others?

There is only one true salvation, and that is found in Jesus Christ, God the Son, the creator of the universe. To learn more about this, click on "Good news".

By the way, the original song was about psychological "strokes", which were often used for manipulation.

Book Review of "The War on Christmas"

This is a modified version of my review from "Evolutionary Truth by Piltdown Superman".

The War on Christmas: Battles in Faith, Tradition and Religious Expression edited by Bodie Hodge #waronchristmas

What's it all about? What's happening, anyway? Christmas has been a part of Western culture for many years, and we did not need to worry about people getting "offended" at the use of the "C word". To be blunt, saying "Happy Holidays" is disingenuous; if there were no Christmas, there would be no "Black Friday" to get retailers back into the black, no gift exchanges, no special family gatherings.

We all know what the holiday is! Now, the cashier where you buy your Christmas gifts can, in many cases, get in trouble for saying "Happy Christmas". Businesses have a "Holiday Party" in December and exchange gifts, but they are forbidden to mention Christmas because someone might be offended! (I am very close to start naming names on this at my own employer!) This political correctness stuff is a way to stifle free speech.

No, the video is not associate with the book. I feel strongly about this and wanted to enhance your online experience with some humor and education. And I think it's an excellent light show and great song.

Why the change? Why is Christmas under attack?

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

— John 1.1-5, NASB
Now for the book itself. To get moving on this, I used the PDF and have not yet seen a physical copy. However, the PDF was well-rendered. It has colorful illustrations and photos and the layout is not boring. The War on Christmas is 144 pages in length, divided into 23 chapters (plus introductions and a conclusion). Bodie Hodge is the "General Editor", and makes several contributions himself. This makes it very convenient for people who are doing Christmas preparations and activities, but can still get some interesting reading done.

If you are locked into your religious opinions, traditions and church customs, you may have some problems. It can also be a great source of trivia to be able to say things like, "Actually, the "Three Wise Men" are not named in the Bible, and it does not even indicate how many there were. And they probably did not arrive with the shepherds at the manger..." We learn about the origins of many customs and legends. It may distress some people to learn the truth, but people like me are fascinated by the actual history.

The reason and meaning of Christmas is presented. Misconceptions about it being a "pagan holiday" are put to rest, and we are encouraged to celebrate it. The history of Nicholas (who became Santa Claus) is presented, and we are given recommendations on how to deal with the Santa image.

On a side note, I did not tell my kids that Santa was real. At least, not the one in popular culture. Why should they find out that their parents lied about this, and then doubt the truth of the reason for Christmas as well? My parents misled me on this, and I "found out" for certain when I was doubting Santa's existence anyway. Fortunately, I did not extend this to doubting the birth of Jesus Christ.

There are some other historical and cultural details in The War on Christmas, including the Virgin Birth, the Christmas star, the X of Xmas and more.

"But Cowboy Bob, what does a Christmas book have to do with creation?"

Glad you asked. The war on Christmas is heating up along with the war on creation and the book of Genesis. This book makes the whole reason for Christmas abundantly clear, going back to Genesis. You see, Genesis is the source of all the major Christian doctrines. What is sin? Go back to Genesis. What was the beginning of covering of sin and animal sacrifice? Go back to Genesis. Why do we need a Redeemer? Go back to Genesis. At Christmas, the Creator of the universe became a man so he could become the sacrifice for our sins.

I am not going to give you all the details of the book and spoil it for you, but I do give it high marks. One negative comment, however. The very last chapter (23) had several plugs for Answers In Genesis and the Creation Museum. While they are very important resources in the battle against the religion of pagan evolutionism, I found those references distracting. Just kind of read around them, the rest of the chapter has good information.

If you have people on your shopping list that like Christmas material, this should be an excellent gift for them. And for yourself, of course.

Disclosure: I was given an advance copy of The War on Christmas: Battles in Faith, Tradition and Religious Expression, edited by Bodie Hodge, for review purposes, plus a T-shirt that I wasn't expecting. There was no requirement for me to write a favorable review. It is available in paperback at Answers In Genesis, New Leaf Publishing, Barnes and Noble, Amazon and others.

Three Objects of Ridicule

Some people who want to be considered "intellectual" and say that they live by "reason" love to ridicule the Bible. They are wrong. Three of the main objects of derision are the Genesis flood, Jonah and the great fish, and the resurrection of Jesus. Did you know that these three historical events have something in common?
And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat (Genesis 8:4).
And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land (Jonah 2:10).
He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay (Matthew 28:6).
These three verses of Scripture speak of three great events of history, widely separated from each other in time, but each involving a mighty miracle. Each testifies of God’s creative power, as well as His judgment on sin and His grace in salvation. The accounts tell of three remarkable specially prepared—yet temporary—domiciles and the amazing experiences of their occupants. Each record has been bitterly attacked by unbelieving skeptics, but the accounts are true and the events were real.

"Gay Rights" Activists, Atheists, Evolutionists and Other Useful Idiots

Some things that are noteworthy in the efforts of the radical leftists to seize power include:
  • Appeal to emotion. The "values" of the leftists are opposed to the majority of the people, but they play up the emotional aspects of "causes" and people support them without thinking; look how leftists tell groups of people that they are oppressed and cannot succeed in life without leftists in power
  • Labels and redefinition. Leftists use labels to provoke emotion (supporters of traditional marriage are labeled with the nonsensical but emotion-laden word "homophobe"), and redefine words to suit their purposes (such as "tolerance" meaning "Everything is okay except Judeo-Christian stuff").
  • Lack of reason. Someone who is not caught up in the emotional pot-stirring of the leftists can listen to their prominent figures and realize they do not make sense. I saw a picture of homosexuals with a poster outside of a Chick-fil-A restaurant, and the sign said, "Legalize Love", but the issue is not about love
  • Celebrity appeal. Movie stars, recording artists, athletes and others in the public eye; Rocker Alice Cooper pointed out, "If you're listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you're a bigger moron than they are. Why are we rock stars? Because we're morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Washington Journal." Celebrities are know for being celebrities (usually leftist supporters), and not for having intellectual skills
  • Opportunism instead of planning. Sure, they may stir up the rabble, and re-stir the rabble (such as the outbreaks of the violent radical "Occupy" nonsense), but for the most part, the left will try to score political points out of something, and fan the emotional flames
  • Blatant hypocrisy. F'rinstance, freedom of speech is encouraged for liberals, but if a Conservative speaks up, it's labeled and attacked. Also, B. Hussein Obama was on record as supporting traditional marriage, then he suddenly changed and became a hero
A phrase that the Soviet Union contemptuously used regarding their supporters in the West was "useful idiots". And that is what is happening with the leftists. They do not have "values", they do not care about people, they are only interested in remaking Western countries into Eastern socialist regimes. That's right, I said it! These people are Statists, and are using homosexual rights activists, atheists, evolutionists and others as useful idiots.

The Gaystapo is pressuring "acceptance" and "tolerance" for the lifestyle choice of a small minority of the population on the rest of us. Emotional appeals are rampant. Financial pressure is also rampant; do you think that major corporations approve of unhealthy sexual activities? I doubt it. Their support is probably because they do not want protesters outside their offices or making news with emotionally-laden terms that the unthinking masses will embrace.

These activists not only appeal to emotion, but are irrational. As I pointed out earlier about the ludicrous "Legalize Love" poster, the issue is not "love", it is about sexual practices and their efforts to redefine marriage itself for the sake of a few loud radicals. Chick-fil-A received massive support because they were receiving hate from those who hypocritically proclaim "tolerance". The company does not discriminate in who they allow to patronize them, but have homosexual employees. Not only was this about the right of the company to hold to and affirm traditional Christian values, but about freedom of speech. So, the intolerant Gaystapo had follow-up "Kiss In" that failed, and homosexual employees suddenly feel bad and want to seek other employment because Chick-fil-A supports "hate". Good luck finding a job where the owners believe everything that you do! Idiots. The company does not give hate or discrimination (or intolerance), but they certainly do receive bigoted, irrational hatred and intolerance for daring to stand for their beliefs. Addendum: Here is "tolerance" for you: Homosexuals who are protesting Chick-fil-A mock a homeless man reading a Bible. How low can you get?

Meanwhile, the Statists on the left are saying that they support homosexual "rights", and supporting militant atheism.

It is supremely ironic that atheists consider themselves "freethinkers" (a horrible misnomer), but they are used by leftists to further their efforts to consolidate power. Like homosexual activists, the left coddles the small disliked group of atheists. Why? They are fueled by hate and seek to destroy Christianity, even with the nit-picking efforts at removing a cross here, a memorial there, a student's graduation speech somewhere else. The public at large is enraged. So who supports misotheists? Leftist activist judges and other politicians. Then they pretend that they are victims and simply standing up for their rights — in opposition to the majority of the population, and imposing their views. Another great irony is that atheist are supporting the Gaystapo's immorality ("useful idiots" for the atheist agenda, atheism itself leads to immorality anyway.

Evolution is a pseudo-scientific philosophy about the origins of life, and is a cornerstone of the atheist religion. Here, logical fallacies run rampant, and many tie into appeals to emotion. The lie that "there are no creationist scientists", another lie that all creationists and Intelligent Design supporters are undejamakated Fundamentalist Christians, that evolution is "science" (fallacy of equivocation), and more. Further, evolution is being protected against actual scientific inquiry. That is not education, that is religious indoctrination! In reality, evolution is another attempt to undermine and ultimately destroy Judeo-Christian values.

Meanwhile, the Statists on the left are supporting the religion of evolutionism.

Now I have an assignment for you. Determine why the violent excesses of Islam are not only tolerated in the West, but encouraged.

Since I have enraged some people with reality, I will go a step further and bring in spiritual truth. While homosexual activists, militant atheists, evolution "educators" and Mohammedans are all useful idiots for the Statists on the left, even the leftists who are trying to run the show are useful idiots themselves! The problem is much deeper than political agendas and immorality. And it has been around a long, long time.

The problem is sin.

"What is 'sin', Cowboy Bob, and why is it so powerful?"

Sin is man's rebellion against God, the one who created us in the first place (Genesis 1.27). Not only do we have a sin nature that prompts us to do things that go against God (Galatians 6.8). Lucifer was a great angel (Ezekiel 28.11-19), and his sin got him kicked out of Heaven (Isaiah 14.12-14 ESV). He is a liar and a destroyer.

There are no "freethinkers" because Satan controls his useful idiots (John 10.10, John 8.44). We have all sinned (Romans 3.23), and are under the wrath of God (Romans 1.18, 2.5).

It does not have to be this way. God has made provision through Jesus Christ to rescue us from the wrath of God (John 3.36, Romans 6.23). You can continue to be under the control of Satan (by the way, he doesn't really care if you're a useful idiot or not, you're just another idiot under his dominion as far as he's concerned) and share his ultimate fate (Revelation 20.10, 15).

Or, because God loves you and made provision for your salvation (John 3.16, 2 Peter 3.9), you can repent ("turn from") your sins and make Jesus Christ, the risen savior and Creator (Colossians 1.16-17, 1 Corinthians 15.3-5).

Please — don't be an idiot.

Make It YOUR Independence Day!

Here is a great song, and someone did a great job on the fireworks to make the video.

Listen to our declaration,
Listen to our testament!
We've been given a revelation,
We are sure of where we stand.
So let the banner be unfurled,
We've found the light of hope in a dying world!

Hear the myth of modern man:
"You're the god of your own land".
They call you weak, a spineless fool,
Say you've given up your right to rule.
But I have been to the "Land of Me",
And I know I was never free;
Freedom came when I gave it all away!

That's why I call it independence day!
Call it independence day.
Let the rockets blaze across the sky,
Raise the flag of faith up high,
Let the doubters call it what they may:
It's independence day!

The world can crown another hundred kings,
But I believe in a better dream.
They may call it slavery,
But the biggest chain I knew was me.
So let the idols tumble down,
The walls of lies crumble to the ground,
I know where salvation can be found,
Let the idols tumble down!

That's why I call it independence day!
Call it independence day.
Let the rockets blaze across the sky,
Raise the flag of faith up high,
Let the doubters call it what they may:
It's independence day!

So join us in the celebration,
It's the birth of a holy nation,
As people of light we are proud to say:
"It's independence day!"

That's why I call it independence day!
Call it independence day.
Let the rockets blaze across the sky,
Raise the flag of faith up high,
Let the doubters call it what they may:
It's independence day!

Those Puzzling Post-Resurrection Appearances

When we hear about the bodily resurrection of Jesus from the dead, it is often from one passage of Scripture that is read or from watching a classic gospel movie. In reality, there was quite a bit of activity. Many people were coming and going from the tomb. Jesus appeared, angels appeared, people told other people who showed up, Jesus walked on the road to Emmaus with two disciples, appeared to others — like I said, it was a busy place. It was a busy time.
Some people assert that the Gospel accounts of the locations, witnesses, and timing of the post-Resurrection appearances of Jesus are contradictory. Scripture exhorts us to be always prepared with answers (1 Peter 3:15) for the hope that is in us. Since these answers and our eternal hope rest on the authenticity of Christ’s Resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:17), we need to sort through some of the “many infallible proofs” (Acts 1:3) Scripture catalogs. As the annual time of our celebration of our Lord’s Resurrection draws near, presented here is a defense and proposed timeline of some of the most important events in history.
You can read the rest of "The Sequence of Christ’s Post-Resurrection Appearances: Where Exactly Did Jesus Appear, and to Whom?", here.

Strange Searches: Atheists Are Idiots

April Fool on me, the auto-post failed. This was scheduled at 12.01 AM Eastern Time.

"Now you're just being downright nasty! As if telling the truth is bad enough, now you're doing name-calling!"

Simmer down, Selma. It's one of the search terms in my site meter that shows how people came to my site. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a set-up and someone is laughing because I used it, but big deal.

For me to use a broad, sweeping generalization that "all atheists are idiots" because I thought the ones I met qualify for that classification would be to commit a hasty generalization fallacy. Further, to call someone an idiot is erroneous in the first place. Although the meaning has changed over the years, at one time, it meant that someone had an IQ of about 30, and a mental age of a three-year-old or less. It is no longer used as a designation. Now it is just a way to call someone stupid.

But I digress.

When looking at groups of people, you get a spectrum. Some atheists are well-schooled and intelligent. Others are too stupid to empty my dishwater safely. And everything in between. (Some consider themselves as brilliant, but are actually quite dim.) The same can be said about almost any group, really. To say "atheists are idiots" commits multiple fallacies.

No, atheists are not idiots.

They are fools.

"HA! I knew it! You are a big meanie fundie creotard hater!"

Now, unbunch your panties, Priscilla. I am not engaging in simple name calling. In fact, I am not the one to decide that atheists are fools.

God said it first.

"The fool has said in his heart, 'There is no God.'
They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds;
There is no one who does good." — Psalm 14.1 NASB

"The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge;
but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction." — Proverbs 1.7 WEB

Someone can be brilliant according to the world's education and wisdom standards, but still be a fool in God's eyes.

Albert Barnes said,
The word “fool” is often used in the Scriptures to denote a wicked man - as sin is the essence of folly. Compare Job 2:10; Psa 74:18; Gen 34:7; Deu 22:21. The Hebrew word is rendered “vile person” in Isa 32:5-6. Elsewhere it is rendered “fool, foolish,” and “foolish man.” It is designed to convey the idea that wickedness or impiety is essential folly, or to use a term in describing the wicked which will, perhaps, more than any other, make the mind averse to the sin - for there is many a man who would see more in the word “fool” to be hated than in the word “wicked;” who would rather be called a “sinner” than a “fool.
Do you catch that? "Fool" is not simply saying that a person is stupid. It is worse, because there is a moral element involved. The one who says "there is no God" (or pretends that "I lack belief" is not an assertion of belief) is stupid in the eyes of God, and is a vile person.

It doesn't matter how "good" you think you are.

But there is another element here. "The fool says in his heart there is no God". That is not just arrogant atheists who think they are smarter than everyone else because they choose to disbelieve (Romans 1.18-22). It applies to people who live as if there will be no consequences for their sin, no judgment.

We have all sinned against God (Romans 3.23). And we all deserve death, but God has given us a way out (Romans 6.23). Jesus loves us and died on a cross for us (Galatians 2.20), and was raised from the dead (1 Corinthians 15.3-6, 1 Peter 3.18). We, too, can be saved from the wrath of God and become justified in his sight (Romans 5.9). We can have eternal life (John 3.16-17) and become children of God (John 1.12).

Try to understand, because this is vitally important. You may not have tomorrow, and you will have to stand before God at Judgement. All of your pride, bravado and possible brilliance will count for nothing.

Some of God's children may be stupid, but we are not fools.

Still More Changed Lives

One of the strongest evidences that Christianity is true, that God is real and that Jesus is indeed alive is the fact that God changes lives. He changes the hardest of hearts, and he knows what it's like to hurt. God does not care about your religion, your "spirituality", your intellect, your preconceptions, your opinions or anything else. If you put aside your pride and come to him on his terms, you can be forgiven and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Here are three stories of hard-hearted atheists that came back to Christ.
Psychology professor Rich Suplita used to sit in the University of Georgia's Tate Plaza holding a handmade sign that read "Ask an atheist" any time a preacher came to campus to share the gospel. As the faculty sponsor of the school's atheist club, he was adept at explaining how to tackle the issues of life without God.
"Essentially what I was trying to do was offer an atheistic apologetic of how you can explain whatever happens to be true through the lens of atheism, and I think I was pretty good at that," Suplita said during a recent interview.

He was so good, he almost convinced himself. But after six years denying God's existence, Suplita had a dramatic change of heart. When he visits Tate Plaza now, he's the one sharing the gospel.
Read the rest of "Ask a (Former) Atheist" here. And then...

Former atheist A.N. Wilson:
Excerpt where he describes his conversion to atheism:
…I realised that after a lifetime of churchgoing, the whole house of cards had collapsed for me – the sense of God’s presence in life, and the notion that there was any kind of God, let alone a merciful God, in this brutal, nasty world.
Yeah, that’s why I would never send my kids to church until they begged and pleaded to go, and knew why they were doing it. The problem of evil and suffering that he mentions is a solid argument against God, one well worth responding too, that I answer fully here.
But another cause of his atheism was peer pressure – the desire to want to be thought of as smarter than others, the desire to not be bound by morality, the desire for autonomy from the hard task of seeking after the Lord in study and service. (More on this below)
You can read the rest of "Ex-atheist A. N. Wilson’s reasons for returning to Christianity" here. And then finally...

Lacey (Mosley) Sturm, the lead singer of hard rock band "Flyleaf" was a suicidal atheist. Here is her story in text, and below is a video:

More Atheist Troublemaking

Buona sera. On the surface, it really baffles me that ("new") atheists are making total war with Christians and Theists. Why? What is the real reason (not just some nonsensical excuse you've conjured up so you can pretend that you have a valid cause)? Why put anti-Christian signs on buses, vandalize crosses at public war memorials, stashing 666 copies of  failed DVD "The God who Wasn't There" in churches for Easter, protest the Ten Commandments in public — and protest the Sunday morning meeting of Answers in Genesis? Anyone watching from the outside will probably say, "What a bunch of jerks. If they're smarter than all the Christians, then why not just go on about their business, confident in their superiority?"

Addendum: The follow-up to the protest is here.

I have asked several times, without response, why they attack and troll Christians, but not easier targets like Mormons, UFO enthusiasts, New Agers, witches, Satanists, Muslims — well, the last two may very well track them down and hurt them, so I'll give them a pass there. But otherwise, they prefer to attack Christians.

Anyone who knows the Bible understands why atheists (and other anti-Christians) attack us:
"Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot hear My word. "You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies."
(John 8:43-44 NAS)

And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
(2 Cor. 4:3-4 NAS)

For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life.
(2 Cor. 2:15-16 NAS) Get that? We stink to them.
Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
(2 Tim 3:12-13 NAS)
Maybe, deep inside their Satan-controlled spirits, they are rebelling against their final destination:
And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
(Rev. 20:15 NAS)
It grates on me when atheists cry about having it rough. But there has never been widespread persecution of atheists, but boy, have atheists caused widespread persecution and murders of millions of of Jews and Christians. But note that it doesn't have to end with the lake of fire. If you're reading this, you still have a chance to repent of your sins and make the resurrected Jesus Christ the lord of your life. While there's still time. You may not have tomorrow, whether through sudden death, or the return of Jesus. Trust me, you do not want to be left behind!

And a word to "religious" people: You're not going to make it. Religious rituals, intellectual assent, your "opinion" or "sincerity" — it's all worthless. You had better be certain of your salvation (2 Cor. 13.5). There will be quite a few religious people that are in for a rude surprise (Matt. 7.21-23). You, an atheist, someone that is complacent, an agnostic, a Muslim, a Satanist or anyone else can repent of (that is, turn from) your sins and make the risen Christ the lord of your life. Again, while there's still time.

I've never been more serious.

Tragic Tales 4: No Tomorrow

Buona sera. I thought I was done with writing about "Monica", but there are a few more important points to add.

She was overly fond of money. In fact, lies were a means to acquiring more money and not parting with her own. One of her biggest secrets was that she had some money stashed away that only she knew about. Money changes people. They get greedy and want more. It's almost strange, you don't have to be rich to be greedy, and you don't have to be poor to avoid loving the stuff. What was she holding onto her money for, anyway? Tomorrow?

Monica did not have any more tomorrows. Ironically, her money went for her own burial expenses.

"...say you'll be all right come tomorrow, but tomorrow might not be here for you..."
— Lynyrd Skynyrd

Monica made her plans. We all have our plans, dreams, hopes, expectations, dreads, fears, whatever. But I have to be very direct with you: Today may be your last day on Earth. Like these people:
They expected to have their tomorrows.

Aside from murder, misadventure or freak accidents, we can die with friends and family in earthquakes, tornadoes, terrorist attacks —

"Cowboy Bob! You're bringing me down! Where is this going?"

OK, you got the point that we're all mortal? Good.

It's important to me to emphasize to you that we all need to be ready to take our final journeys. At some time or another, we're all going to meet God face to face and give an account of our lives.

"But Uncle Bob, I already have my religion. I'm very sincere in it."

Hooray for you. But guess what? I don't care about your religion, or anybody else's. Nobody is really concerned about religion, you see. God doesn't care about religion. It's all about a relationship. You can have a saving relationship with God, through Jesus.

"Aw, get over that, Cowboy Bob! I'm a good person. At least, as good as the next."

Let's look at that. God laid out his standard in the Ten Commandments. Have you ever told a lie, even a little one? Sure, we all have, even "little white lies". Have you ever stolen anything, even something small? Yes, that music download counts... Hey, how about taking God's name in vain? Funny, even people who do not believe in God will use his name as a profanity. Did you ever look at someone with lust? I know I have, but you're not getting names. Anyway, Jesus said that looking at someone with lust, you've already committed adultery in your heart (Matt. 5.28).

Shall I keep going? Nah, I think you get the idea, we've all broken a few of the commandments, if not all of them. Therefore, we're guilty of breaking God's law.

So, if you, Good Person, stand before God on your Judgment and try to get into Heaven, you're in for an unpleasant surprise, because you've broken his commandments. And by then it'll be too late. Heaven or Hell? Seems obvious to me that God, who is holy and righteous, cannot allow us into Heaven. But he made a way for us, even though he didn't have to.

Don't run off, it's not too late. While there's life, there's hope.

Let me lay it on the line. We're all sinners (Romans 3.23), and we deserve the penalty (Romans 6.23). Guess what? God sent his only son (John 3.16) to die for us. If we admit we're sinners, repent (Bible talk that means to give up or to turn from) our sins, accept Jesus as the lord of our lives, we have Heaven in our future. And he is with us in our lives on Earth.

I won't kid you, that's not my job. It's not easy to follow Jesus and be his disciple. But it's most definitely worth it.
What's stopping you, really? Pride? Sorry, Buttercup, you can't make it into Heaven on your own "goodness", or merits, or religion, or anything else. Just faith in Jesus. Or are you afraid of what your friends might say? Ha, some friends they are. Family? They'll have to adjust, won't they? Your own ego, that you "don't believe in God"? Spare me. Evidence for God exists all around, but are you willing to believe? Or maybe you have a "pet sin", some activity that you won't give up that's keeping you from God. Big mistake. It's really not worth it.

Are your waiting for tomorrow? Tomorrow may not happen, and your fate will be sealed.

Let me add this, that I've taunted people (impolite, I know) that I am looking forward to meeting my mother (who died of a malignant glioma), father (who had Dementia and did not even know who he was), brother (who had Down Syndrome) in Heaven, and all will be perfect, free of pain and in our right minds. (Monica's family are expecting to meet her again in Heaven, despite her flaws and mistakes, because I'm told that she accepted Christ at an early age.) People who deny that God exists have nothing to offer. I've studied, and believe that the Bible is true. That's a far cry from lame arguments of, "No, it's not!" Those people sound so childish, as well as ignorant of history, archaeology, etc. I'll take the Bible over pitiful excuses for disbelief any day. But I digress.

"Now is the day of salvation" (2 Cor. 6.2).
