Zuckerberg, Hate Speech, and Congress

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Mr. Markie Goes to Congress As you probably know, Facebook is having some difficulties. Because of the data scandals, their stock is plummeting , and people are quitting it — including Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak . Do some searching for "reasons to quit Facebook", and you'll see that warnings are not only sounding now, but have been for years. He offered his standard apology, but people are not expecting much. It didn't mean much before, after all. via GIPHY Mark Zuckerberg had himself a little discussion with the US House and Senate. It's not just about selling information, but about discrimination, censorship , and hate speech. Fazebook has a reputation for allowing terrorist speech ( here is one report ), then they get on the prod and slap down non-leftists ( here is an example , his campaign was "shocking and offensive"). Two black women (I know they're two black women, they keep telling us this) who go by

It's a Morality Thing

I've been pondering this for quite some time, and some recent observations prompted me to write about it. Remember about a year ago when I wrote about The Arrogant Atheist? Yes, then I did some other stuff that was similar. I've noticed that atheism (and its kid brother, agnosticism) and liberalism go hand-in-hand. It appears that there is an elitist approach to atheism. Why would someone claim to be an atheist? I can think of several reasons, including: Upbringing and bad educational experiences Bad experiences in life Cultural influences Political and social environment Peer pressure, or the desire to please other people Disappointment based on bad experiences in life (i.e., expecting God to be a grand Santa Claus in the sky, giving you whatever you want, whenever you want it) Elitism Moral choices It's the last two parts that I want to touch on today. Please pay attention, 007! I am not going to say that all atheists are the same, and that my definitions

Lack of Meaning in the Lives of Leftists

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen In the first season of the hardcore humanistic evolutionary show  Star Trek: The Next Generation , the entity known as Q was antagonizing Captain Picard and the starship's crew. Picard misquoted Shakespeare. The misquote is not so much the issue, but Picard's attitude toward humanity: PICARD: Oh, no. I know Hamlet. And what he might said with irony, I say with conviction. What a piece of work is man. How noble in reason. How infinite in faculty. In form, in moving, how express and admirable. In action, how like an angel. In apprehension, how like a god. [Hamlet, Act 2, Scene 2] Q: Surely you don't really see your species like that, do you? PICARD: I see us one day becoming that, Q. He may as well have stamped his foot and said, "We're humanity!  Don't underestimate us, because we've evolved into a great and noble species!" Wishful thinking, Cappy. To summarize entropy in the most basic terms, everything goes from

Atheism Gets More Religious

Image
Heating It Up for Atheism in July continues with some reminders that atheism is, indeed, a religion . Let's also face that atheism is a worldview, a way of life and (for many) an excuse to hate people who refuse to disbelieve. Here are two embarrassments for those who hold to the intellectually dishonest claim that atheism is a "lack of belief" [ 1 , 2 , 3 ] . First, the "First Church of Atheism", where you can be an ordained clergyman and use it as a means of making money [ 4 ] .  If that isn't embarrassing enough,  British atheists are building a temple of worship [ 5 ] . Of course, they'll be worshiping their own egos, since they deny the true and living God. So, in addition to showing how atheism is philosophically and intellectually bankrupt, we can show that the atheistic worldview is also hypocritical.

In the Maelstrom of Twitter Atheists

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen I wanted to share some observations and thoughts with y'all on being drawn into the maelstrom of disarticulated atheopathy on Twitter. Although Twitter increased its limit for texts and made some other modifications, I find it very difficult to have a decent conversation on there. Not only because of the limits, but other people tend to get involved. Don't get me started on the cesspool of YouTube comments, except that meaningful exchanges are rare. Especially atheists, who swarm like piranhas. It's the digital version of schoolyard bullying, where they gang up to ridicule Christians and creationists. (Side note: Chris Plante dislikes the word bullying, preferring harassment  and other accurate phrases. I use it because it shows the childish nature of village atheists on teh interweb.) They were as prideful and irrational as Haywire the Stalker  (who has been defeated by me , and others, numerous times, but still spews venom). Since Twitter al

Stupid People

No, Nicky. I'm saying that you should go to The Organ Stop for pizza the next time you're in Mesa. The Wurlitzer organ is a classic — oh, company's here. Buon giorno. Stupid people get on my nerves. You too, huh? That's not surprising. But — what exactly are "stupid" people? We all know some people who do inexplicable things that a reasonable person would not say or do. "What did you do that for? That was stupid!" Some people seem to lack simple common sense. But quite often, it's not that cut and dried. Sometimes, there are reasons for what we consider "stupid" things. Uninformed. If someone did not know better, it is unfair to find fault with him. "I've never seen one of those before, and didn't know that it would do that. Sorry." Differences of opinion. You believe this is true, I believe that is true. Disagreement itself does not equal stupidity. Fatigue, stress, medications acting up, distraction

Atheists Have Their Miracles Too

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Professing atheists tend to look in disdain at Christians for believing in God, the Bible, and (of course) miracles. They argue from their naturalistic presuppositions that the Bible is false, God does not exist, and miracles are impossible, then they proceed to make the assertion that they  are the rational ones because they reject the aforementioned. But such a definition of rational  is arbitrary and fallacious, presuming that those who believe in miracles are irrational . The word miracle  seems to be a catch-all word that means, "Something good that happened that I can't explain", such as finding my possibles bag by a fence on the back forty. More accurately, miracles ascribe happy events to God. Yes, maybe he did perform a miraculous healing, something the doctors cannot explain, because God does perform them. Too often, however, people don't know what they're talking about. Take a gander at the first few paragraphs of " Doe

Atheists and their Theistic Evolutionist Enablers

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen (Edited 11-06-2015) I'm speaking in generalities. There are theistic evolutionists who are not actively trying to troll the Web and recruit Bible believers away from their faith. Also, there are yet a few professing atheists who really don't care what the rest of us believe, and want to go on about their business.  A foundation for the religion of atheism is evolution, which gives many professing atheists a "scientific" explanation for the origin and development of life. Naturally, atheists attack Christians because it's their nature to do so (John 8:44, Luke 6:22, 2 Timothy 3:12). But they hate creationists even more, because creation wrecks their evolutionary foundation. When it comes to biblical ("young Earth") creation, they ride in at full gallop with guns blazing, because evolution requires time — a lot of it — and biblical creation science shows not only the flaws in evolution, but gives evidence for a recent crea

Parts of the Problem

Edited for clarity 7-20-2011 Buona sera. Does it bother you when someone points out problems but does not offer any solutions? Then prepare to be annoyed because I have no great answers. If, however, you want to compare notes and possibly say, "Yeah! I see that, too!", then you're in the right place. After pondering information from several sources, making mental notes and simply making observations, I am seeing some of the reasons why unbelievers have problems with Christians, and Christianity. Some of it is the fault of the unbeliever, and the believers are not helping matters. First, problems on the part of the unbelievers. Preconceptions. We all have them, don't deny it. If you use a word, it has certain connotations for some people. For instance, if you hear or read the word "church", what image pops into your head? If you have experiences, you may remember smells, sounds, images — and emotions. I think the best way to deal with p

The Danger of Militant Atheists

Image
Buon giorno. I have been challenged when I point out that militant atheists are a threat to Christians. Not only do they continually seek to take away our rights, but have shown a penchant toward violence. (I am including a failed actor who became a failed massage therapist that demanded to know my name and location, and another hateful atheist told him what he thought was the truth — the same one who told me to commit suicide. And the guy in school who raved that he wanted all Christians to be burned at the stake. And...) They hate God (who only exists in their minds when they want to hate him), and they hate Christians. A few even pretend that they care about us, and want to "help" us away from our faith. A man with that attitude is a lousy excuse for a man! Atheism was the driving force behind Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot and other mass-murdering totalitarians. "But Cowboy Bob! Atheism is currently defined as a lack of belief in gods. This had nothing to do

Video: Atheist and Evolutionist Morality — Fundamentally Flawed

Image
Atheists and evolutionists are not only confused by their irrational worldviews, but they are also cunning. One of their tricks is to first deceive themselves, and then deceive others, about the definitions of words. The disingenuous redefinition of atheism to mean "lack of belief" is laughable to any thinking person. The Evo Sith will sneak a change in definition of the word "evolution". These word games are some of the tools used to attack Christians and creationists. These tricks and attacks are partly the result of realizing that they cannot defeat the biblical creationist worldview with reason and science. We are right, they know it, and they hate it. But hiding from the truth and redefining words will not change the end result. For anyone reading this and watching the video below, it's not too late. It might be too late in an hour, though.
