The Androids of Washington

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen In 1978, the  Doctor Who  series had an episode called " The Androids of Tara ", which was a tribute of sorts to The Prisoner of Zenda.  One of my favorites, and I believe Tom Baker did substantial script editing. There's a whole heap of intrigue, identity swapping — and obtaining The Doctor's help to repair an android that will fill in for the ailing prince who will become king. Apparently, the planet has a passel of androids. There have been numerous concerns raised about Hillary Clinton's health , and if she'd be physically fit to be the American President. (Intellectually, morally, spiritually, no she's not fit, but sheeple want her, and I believe this country is under God's judgement, so we may very well get her.) Shrillary is reported to talk to the spirit of Eleanor Roosevelt (no, Eleanor isn't doing any talking, that's a far different spirit Clinton's talking to), but the Democrats try to dress this stor

Atheism, Morality, and the Rise of the "Nones"

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Despite claims of professing atheists that their worldview is dramatically increasing in followers, they only account for 3.1 percent of the population in the United States in 2014, with 4.0 percent claiming to be agnostic. There is an increase in the "nones" , people who claim no particular affiliation. (Globally, Christianity is on the rise , especially in countries where Christians are actively persecuted.) Some atheists consider the "nones" to be a victory for atheism. Not so fast, Freddie. There are people who are unaffiliated with a particular religious organization, but that does not mean that they have renounced their faith and embraced the irrational religion of atheism . It does mean, however, that people are not joining up with churches, or are even leaving them because they don't like what their church teaches. In my case, I was raised in the liberal United Methodist Church, but that outfit chose to ride the Owlhoot Trail

Atheism's Faulty Moral Compass and Consequences

Image
— by Cowboy Bob Sorensen The religion of atheism seems to attract a high percentage of deviants because they have no consistent foundation for morality. One way this can be seen is that, when pressed, atheists cannot actually account for morality itself . If you examine the Web, Facebook, Weblogs and so on, you'll find many examples of obscenity and hatred toward God and his people. US Geological Survey Although they claim that they can be " good without God ", the words and actions of so many Internet atheists belie that claim. This is the opposite of the truth .Their moral compass is situational and based on whatever is expedient at the time. Living in societies that are founded on Christian morality, they are actually borrowing from the Christian worldview when they say that something is right or wrong. There comes a point when God essentially says, " Your will be done", and gives them over to their depraved minds. Atheism is irrational and in

Atheism, the Bible and Subjective Morality

Image
One of the most simplistic and annoying tricks that atheists pull is their unwillingness to answer questions about knowledge and morality. When pressed, they resort to dodging the question, throwing the question back in the face of the one asking, denying what they said, use logical fallacies, accuse others of fallacies and more ( this MP3 is a good example ). I believe the reason for such behavior is simple: They know that God's ultimate standard is true, but do not want to face it. However, their subjective morality is fundamentally flawed and will self-destruct. Attempting to blame God and make him the bad guy by quote mining the Bible is a massive fail. So is attempting to place your own arbitrary, subjective morality on God . When the atheist is pinned down on the absurdity of subjective morality and has nowhere left to turn, often he'll attempt to point the finger right back at supposed problems with Biblical morality. But there are numerous overarching logical

Atheism and Human Rights

It should come as no surprise that the individuals who abide by fundamentalist Christian and radical Islamic doctrines would be the first to cry out that they are being persecuted when their dangerous, damaging and disingenuous beliefs come under attack. Most of these people lack the maturity and intelligence to act in a socially acceptable manner. Many of them are sociopaths and quite a good number of them are psychopaths. All of them are clearly delusional. — Al Stefanelli Buon giorno. You would think that I would stop being amazed at the illogical, childish, vituperative attacks that militant atheists have against Christians. (To me, this indicates that they have the inner knowledge that we are right , Romans 1.19-22 ESV, and that burns.) They get exceptionally angry when their words and actions speak for themselves, showing the world the lack of character of many atheopaths. Not only do they detest having the truth told, but have conniption fits when the truth about them is de

Another "I Told You So!"

"I had motives for not wanting the world to have meaning, consequently assumed it had none and was able without any difficulty to find satisfying reasons for this assumption. The philosopher who finds no meaning in the world is not concerned exclusively with a problem in pure metaphysics. He's also concerned to prove that there's no valid reason why he should personally not do just what he wants to do. For myself, as no doubt for most of contemporaries, the philosophy of meaninglessness was essentially an instrument of liberation. The liberation we desired was simultaneously a liberation from a certain political and economic system and a liberation from a certain system of morality. We objected to the morality because it interfered with our sexual freedom." —Aldous Huxley, in Confessions of a Professed Atheist Another "I told you so!" for me. Several times, I have pointed out to atheists that the cornerstone of their religion is evolution. If there is no Cr

Addendum: For those who do not want the actual content of the site, but want to see whiny boy's comments, this article has some really great comments by another obstreperous, recalcitrant atheist . Comments on this Weblog have been disabled. Buona sera. I swiped this image from Dan's site, " Debunking Atheists ". I find some good images on my own now and then, but I really like that one. OK, enough of this jocularity. Uncle Bob is not feeling too playful today. Where do you get your morality? More than that, where do you get your integrity? Yeah, bet you didn't see that one coming. I've touched on the topic before, but it's been coming up lately, so I wanted to go into some detail. We have many sources. One atheist said that "morals are reasoned and mutually agreed up on in a society... believe we can see an evolutionary mandate for social cooperation and moral codes". (Sorry, Dude, I think that's horse pucky.) Other atheists have

It's a Morality Thing

I've been pondering this for quite some time, and some recent observations prompted me to write about it. Remember about a year ago when I wrote about The Arrogant Atheist? Yes, then I did some other stuff that was similar. I've noticed that atheism (and its kid brother, agnosticism) and liberalism go hand-in-hand. It appears that there is an elitist approach to atheism. Why would someone claim to be an atheist? I can think of several reasons, including: Upbringing and bad educational experiences Bad experiences in life Cultural influences Political and social environment Peer pressure, or the desire to please other people Disappointment based on bad experiences in life (i.e., expecting God to be a grand Santa Claus in the sky, giving you whatever you want, whenever you want it) Elitism Moral choices It's the last two parts that I want to touch on today. Please pay attention, 007! I am not going to say that all atheists are the same, and that my definitions
