An Improper Environment for Science

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Interesting that some cultures have made scientific advances in some areas, then just — stalled. Ancient pagan cultures had some good mathematics and observations, Mohammedans falsely take credit for various discoveries [ 1 ], Communist science was notorious for lagging behind the West (espionage was a big part of their progress [ 2 ]), and so on. For science to thrive, it needs the proper environment. Mao Zedong image on Chinese banknote Image credit: Freeimages / Tudou Mao Despite Bill Nye the Propaganda Guy's claims [ 3 ], belief in evolution has nothing to do with scientific progress. In reality, evolution is of no benefit to medicine [ 4 ], and has hindered scientific progress [ 5 ], and is anti- science [ 6 ]. Atheistic communism has been devastating to scientific advancement [ 7 ], and America is racing in that direction, what with the politicizing of science and all [ 8 ], [ 9 ], [ 10 ]. Do you need to be an atheist to be a scientist today?

No Worth to Atheists

Image
This was originally published in June, 2013. I think. For some reason, I unpublished it ("revert to draft"), but it did not keep the original date. Much of it is the way it appeared then, but there are some funky things happening with text size and spacing, but I think I settled them down. The second paragraph was added in August 2016. Also, the file size of the image is much larger than I prefer to use (284 kb). Not only does hate make people stupid, but the anger in atheism is related to mental issues . I've said these things for years, and keep getting more evidence. Although I shouldn't give those who crave attention that they desire to bolster their egos, Haywire the Stalker has been making a fool of himself for years with defamation and blatant untruths. In a recent rant about my stupidity, dishonesty, and denying what he considers "facts" in his incoherent worldview, (h e focuses mainly on my introductions to linked articles and splits hairs to m

Cain's Wife, Biblical Incest, and Evolution

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Since the Bible is not being taught very well in too many churches, one of the questions that stymies some people is, "Where did Cain get his wife in Genesis 4:16:17? After all, we only know about Cain and Abel". It's a fair question. However, atheopaths will often use this in a weird, self-refuting way that ends with, "therefore, evolution". They claim that there is no God and the Bible is false, but they selectively cite passages as if they were true  to allow God to exist so they can hate him, such as in this image . The chronology of some of the early Hebrew writings is less linear than our 21st century minds prefer. In Genesis 5:3-4, it said that Adam and Eve had other sons and daughters.  As to when  they had them, we're not told. Ultimately, its indicates that the sons and daughters married each other. After all, God commanded them to be fruitful and multiply (Gen. 1:28). Incest was expected back then. Centuries ago

Go to the Source

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen For Question Evolution Day , I reckoned I'd point out a major bit of weirdness that anti-creation tinhorns saddle up and ride. I've seen many logical fallacies that they use, and try to not only watch my own reasoning, but encourage Christians and creationists to learn about fallacies as well. This is to keep us from getting intimidated by bullies, but also to be more accurate in our own presentations and discussion. Many fallacies can be grouped together in the "red herring" category. That is, they're distractions. The ad hominem is the staple of atheists, saying things like, "You're stupid for believing in God and creation". Maybe I'm stupid, and my mother dressed me funny, too, but what does that have to do with the article's content? Another is the "straw man", where people put words in your mouth or otherwise misrepresent your position. "Hasty generalizations" are popular among atheis

Does Free Speech Apply to Employers and Social Media?

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Most of us know that employers in The Big Company monitor someone's social media activities. As is often the case, when someone expresses a personal view that is not politically correct, they can be screened out and barred from employment, and people have even lost their jobs for expressing themselves on social media . I disremember when I read this, but someone said that it was good and right for The Big Company to monitor someone's activities. Really? We may cry "censorship" or "freedom of speech", but those do not apply so much here. That is, try to fight it in court on "free speech" grounds, and you'll probably lose. Your speech is regulated while on the company clock, vocal or written, and what you write can be monitored even though it's on your own time, on your own media accounts. There are companies that don't really care what the typical employee does in his or her spare time  as long as they

National Day of Unreason

Image
"Humanists" (generally atheists) are making a rude gesture to Christians by having their so-called " National Day of Reason ", fallaciously pretending that being an atheist makes you "reasonable", and being a Christian makes you unable to reason, on the same day as the American "National Day of Prayer". Of course, they already have their holiday, it's April 1 , but I reckon they chose that day simply to be obstreperous. Atheists are getting more obnoxious all the time. Matt Slick of CARM was going to be involved in the National Day of Prayer on the Utah Capitol steps, but the atheists had already reserved that space . On April 27, 2015,  Matt issued a debate challenge to the Idaho Humanist Association .  To demonstrate that Idaho Humanists are confident, respectful, and rational, he was answered with a stampede of logical fallacies and outright libel. Christians get that a lot, especially when we can point out how those who claim to

Atheists and Anti-Creationists Ramp Up the Persecution

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen A quote that is misattributed to Voltaire reads, "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." According to Evelyn Beatrice Hall , this was Voltaire's attitude toward material by Claude Adrien Helvétius. Voltaire is incorrectly called an atheist. He was actually a Deist who detested many religious dogmas, and believed in freedoms of religion and expression . The attitude of disapproving of what is said but defending the right to say it is sadly lacking in modern society; people screaming for "tolerance" are extremely intolerant. Even a cursory search will show that there is intense persecution of Christians , especially in countries run by atheists and Mohammedans. And it's only beginning . Edit: Around the time that I published this article, "Stand Up for the Truth" had a segment on persecution. To hear that, click on " Is Christian Persecution Coming to America? " It&

Evolution, the Illuminati, and Question Evolution Day

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen For Question Evolution Day , I decided to write some thoughts about the Illuminati and conspiracies. According to some people, the Illuminati is a secret organization that seeks world domination, and has a strong influence in the affairs of governments. I understand that they're also spying on individuals, and some accounts tell us that they want to take over the world for Satan.  Yes, the Illuminati started out as a secret organization, and people link them to another secret organization, the Freemasons. They have also been allied with the Anunnaki, who are (according to some accounts) our reptilian masters from outer space who also control the world. The details are sketchy about their power and alliances, and vary greatly, some tales are extremely far-fetched. How secret are they, then? People seem to "know" a great deal about them. They are writing Weblogs and posting in social media all over the place. When people make the devil hand

Creation, Conservatives, and Fighting for Free Speech

Image
If the Grinch was a leftist, he might say, "Free speech is speech I can't stand in the least!" Let's face it, political correctness is primarily an effort to suppress free speech. Who are the biggest proponents of political correctness? Liberals, of course! They resort to labeling and name-calling, especially if someone holds to traditional Christian and Conservative values. If you point out that the Bible calls homosexuality a sin, you're a homophobe (a meaningless term used to provoke emotion; I don't phobe homos, or heteros, for that matter). If you point out the minority-status national origin of a criminal, you're a racist. Say that there are some things women just can't do, you're a sexist. Ban an obstreperous atheopath from trampling a Christian or creationist site, you're a censor (news flash, Skippy, you were banned for being an obnoxious buffoon, not for being a threat to our beliefs, and certainly not for using logic). Liberals

Conflation and the War Between Science and Religion

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Back when I was giving talks on creation science, I used what has become a very popular quote by an atheist: ‘Christianity has fought, still fights, and will continue to fight science to the desperate end over evolution, because evolution destroys utterly and finally the very reason Jesus’ earthly life was supposedly made necessary. Destroy Adam and Eve and the original sin, and in the rubble you will find the sorry remains of the Son of God. If Jesus was not the redeemer who died for our sins, and this is what evolution means, then Christianity is nothing.  — G. Richard Bozarth, ‘The Meaning of Evolution’, American Atheist, p. 30. 20 September 1979. The way I study on it, this quote would have been mostly forgotten if biblical creationists hadn't lassoed it and kept repeating it. "Why do you people keep repeating it, Cowboy Bob?" Thanks for asking. We repeat it because it's right. Vituperative and biased, but right. This was bac
