Snowflakes Burning with Hate

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen It is indeed unfortunate that the political and cultural situations in the United States are not unique to our borders; the affliction is global. Instead, it is a reflection of postmodernism and nihilism, replete with relative truth and despair. After Hillary Clinton lost the election to Donald J. Trump, people were suddenly confronted with the stark possibilities of having to actually work and become productive members of society for eight years; they never considered that Hillary could lose the election. Further, they were willingly blind to the duplicity and outright lies of the Obama administration, carrying this over and expecting more promises of good things from the leftist Democrats. On the spiritual side, we get something like this confused ramblings from someone who has claimed to be an atheist and not an atheist in the same paragraph. He usually identifies himself as an atheist, and has said God is " non-existent". Here is an edited ver

Fools on the Wrong Road

Image
"Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it." — Matthew 7.13-14 There are two kinds of fools that I want to deal with today.  Atheist Fools April 1, so it is Atheists' Day (Psalm 14.1). They are on the broad highway that leads to destruction, but suppress the truth of the God they know exists.  This was on a Facebook Page that was set up by atheists to mock and blaspheme (click for larger): My reply was comprised of the references and text of Prov. 26:12, Rom. 11:33-34, Isaiah 55:8-9, 1 Cor. 2:14, Jer. 17:9, 1 Cor. 1:19-20, Psalm 14:1, Rom. 1:18-22, Phil. 2:9-11. Naturally, the response was ridiculed. This guy proved God's Word right again (and blasphemed further). People like this want us to reject God's written Word and embrace their false god, which

Atheists and Anti-Creationists Crazy from the Hate

by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Edited 10-14-2014. The inspiration for this article is backwards. I saw a rant in an inconsequential forum by a vituperative but unimportant atheist. Then  I read the article on one of the sites I subscribe to that brought his childish "you deny evolution and billions of years, so you're a liar" reaction. The article in question is by former theistic evolutionist Dr. David Catchpoole of CMI, " Faith can move mountains (but it can't change history) ". He wrote a short article about the global Genesis Flood from his biblical creationist (young earth) perspective, and was given an ad hominem  attack for his efforts by the aforementioned atheopath. Dr. Catchpoole gave links in that article to some of the science articles supporting the Genesis Flood, but the critic did not seem to be interested in reading or responding to those.  The uneducated atheopath railed against Catchpoole, displaying his inability to distinguish between a

Petra "Whole World" lyrics Words and music by Bob Hartman Based on Hebrews 1:3, Matthew 20:29, 6:34 Hearts are falling left and right Children fear this planet's plight Fatalistic fears abound And take their toll without a sound But through the vague uncertainty - comes a bold assurity This world is under sovereignty - divinely ordered destiny He holds this world together with the Word of His power Safe within His hands - til its own appointed hour (Chorus) He's still got the whole world in His hands - tonight And only He knows where the sparrow lands - tonight And nothing in this world can stop His plans - tonight 'Cause He's still got the whole world in His hands In His hands tonight Humanistic lies lament The holocaust is imminent Doomsday prophets in the news Predicting who will light the fuse The fate of His creation isn't subject to a man The final consummation is according to His plan He's still got you - He's sti

Laughing at You

Edit: News reached me that a certain highly intellectual and deeply compassionate atheist referred to this band as "the most retarded". You're a class act, Poindexter. What a joke! Here is the title track of the 1991 song by Deliverance, called "What a Joke" (written by Jimmy P. Brown II and George Ochoa): I'm so tired of all this guile Homos saying they're not perverted It's an alternative lifestyle Law enforcement, politicians and businessmen These days with most of them Corruption is a synonym We fight this battle not against evil Against those who think they are good I've not stolen, murdered or destroyed God will let me in! What a joke God will laugh at your calamity What a joke He will mock when your terror comes Wannabe intellects spew "There is no God" Proving themselves fools, liars and frauds Remnant prays this battle against evil Against those who perceive they are

The Butcher

Does anyone have the nerve to rock out, really rock out? Then turn it up! The previously embedded "video" had crummy sound quality. Here is better sound (there is no official video). Lyrics are below. This man came to me he was looking for action Pulling a blade to my neck He said, “Call me the butcher cause that's my trade And you know that I’ve come to collect.” I said "Hit me now And we’ll see where it leads Cut me out if you think I will bleed Strike me down If you think you’re a man Cause I know that you don't understand" Because there is no weapon There is no blade You wonder why I’m not afraid? There is no weapon There is no blade You’ll never kill Him that lives inside of me. He looked into my eyes, all he saw was conviction Dropping the blade to the earth I said, “How could you think that I’d ever retreat? You know that I’m already dead.” I said "Hit me now and we’ll see where it leads Cut me out if you think I wi

Bittersweet

Excuse me. I am very, very sad right now. Just found out that I lost a friend. Well, I considered Dana Key, the lead singer and guitarist of the Christian band DeGarmo and Key a kind of friend. Met him after concerts (and once before) about three times. Great show. (Greg Morrow was drumming for them, look for him on the credits of Van Zant's latest albums.) He's gone now, dead on June 6, 2010 at age 56 from a blood clot. Some people say that people do not grow spiritually when they're into any kind of rock music. Well, Dana was another one that became a pastor. He was one of those people that you could see it in his eyes, felt like he was looking into me. Startling the first time it happened. These guys meant what they said, and had the courage to sing about Jesus. For that matter, I remember when they released a 2-for-1 deal — buy the tape, there is a second one inside the package for you to give to "an unsaved friend". That has always impressed me. I came

What is the Alternative — Really?

Image
Buona sera. No, I'm not going to be serious on you. Just a bit of pondering that was too long for yesterday's grouping. I like many kinds of music. My main choice is rock. There are so many sub-categories and styles, sometimes I wish people would take Billy Joel's remark to heart and say, "It's still rock and roll to me". Even so, I suppose some of the categories are useful. When I want to listen to Christian rock, I don't want to find my way through raunchy stuff until I get there. One category that kind of grinds my gears is "alternative". Alternative to what? It's still rock, isn't it? Sure, there's a style difference from "mainstream" rock. But then, rock itself is supposed to be non-traditional and rebellious. Also, "alternative" is what the 1970s and 80s punk and New Wave evolved into. (Yes, I said "evolved". In this case, the term is valid.) But I have some news for you, Buttercup. The "classi
