Buona sera. At about 14.15 on 10 December 2011, I heard sirens. Lots of them. Loud. They seemed to be getting closer, but I was uncertain. Must be some disaster up the road, because they were not coming into the complex. Nope, no smoke in the sky. Medical emergency? But the sirens and horns continued.
Then I saw that they were coming into the complex. I figured the best thing to do was to stay put; emergency personnel do not want sightseers in the way, capice? Especially since there were voices coming from loudspeakers or something, and I did not understand what they were saying.
I had my camera phone handy and stood on our second-floor balcony. Too bad I do not have steady hands, but I did not do as poorly as I have other times. Here is the first vehicle:

Cute vehicle driving Santa around town! Then I got it, and had a good laugh. The loudspeakers were making sense, too, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. Well, good! They used the "C" word!
They went deeper into the complex and turned around I took one more picture before the phone itself complained that I had not deleted enough old photos, so I had to stop:
