A Question for Democrats

It does not take a majority to prevail...
but rather an irate, tireless minority,
keen on setting brushfires of
freedom in the minds of men.

— Samuel Adams of Massachusetts

Buona sera.
Some things have come to my mind after Scott Brown won the election over that nutcase Coakley (while I snicker at how the suggested spelling correction for Coakley on this thing includes "coalface"). And calm down, we have a right to celebrate, we have not had good news in a long time.

I am wondering how Democrats can claim to have any self-respect. Their candidate's past prosecution of an innocent man jumped out of the closet and haunted her. She was laughed at on the Internet (and quite a bit on Twitter) for ridiculous remarks — the same style of remarks wrongly attributed to Sarah Palin — but the press did not care about those.

In addition, Coakley's coke freak campaign included outright lies to sabotage Scott "Like the Guy Next Door" Brown's candidacy. How about pretending to be a nonexistent pro-life group and saying you oppose Brown? Another flat-out lie is that Scott Brown wants to deny treatment for rape victims. That kind of merda would make me change my vote if my candidate did it.

Here are some other observations that make me wonder about the self-respect of Democrats:
  • They are busy blamestorming instead of solving problems; out of touch with reality, not accepting responsibility for their own actions and failures
  • Attacking private citizens like "Joe the Plumber", Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and others; I don't know of any other administration that stooped that low
  • Blaming a television network (Fox News) for their failures; they control the major networks plus CNN and the laughable MSNBC, so they want it all and they want it now
  • The liberal media will not pursue issues that may affect liberals; what about the illegal campaign contributions? Oh, right. Liberal court judges, we don't stand a chance at getting this stuff taken care of
  • "Reach across the aisle" stuff is a lie; Republicans and Conservatives always have to do the reaching and to "work with" liberals, but they just sit and take, not giving anything
  • These are the tip of the iceberg
This is not your father's Democrat party. Not the Democrats of Hubert Humphrey, John F. Kennedy or even Bill Clinton! Hell's bells, I'd rather have Slick Willie than B. Hussein Obama. Less harmful, more entertaining.

My question: Do Democrats with any self-respect really want to be associated with a party that acts this way? If you would stop being loyal to the party out of habit or tradition and actually think, you might become Conservatives. But, like atheists who have to think about evidence for the existence of God, Democrats are afraid to consider the truth of "the other side" out of fear that they may wind up coming out of the darkness and into the light.
